2 scooters baby!

We bought Kerri the 3 wheel Mini Micro Scooter as her Christmas present. And the girls could not be happier. No more waiting for their turns to scoot. And daddy need not bend and guide Kerri along on the more difficult 2 wheel Razor Scooter that Kae owns.

It's an all win situation!

20 years on

Had it been so long ago? It was 20 years ago when we started secondary school and ended up joining the same ECA. Wow, we are getting old!

The netballers came over to my place for a post Xmas gathering, and with every meet up, it was another chance for our kids to get to know each other better. One more coming in March!

And look how cute the girls are! Auntie Lois was so sweet to buy the older girls tutu dresses!

Pietrasanta The Italian Restaurant

Dar has been wanting to bring me to Pietrasanta to try their food like forever. The last time we drove there the restaurant was closed; it was a Tuesday.

It was quite empty when we reached, but apparently, nearly all tables were reserved. And it was a Thursday! We were lucky enough to get 1 of the last 2 tables available.

I will start off with their pasta dishes. We ordered a simple bolognese for the girls. Do note that this dish is not on their usual menu; we enquired with the staff what they can whip up for the girls.

I had their Squid-ink Fettuccine with crab meat sauce. Somehow, this dish didn't impress me much. Or maybe it was because I keep thinking of the yummy squid-ink pasta I had a few years back at Valentino's.

Dar had their Home-made Pappardelle with lobster sauce, which I thought was a much better order. But still, I didn't think that dish was a wow for me.

My favorite dishes for the night were the buffalo cheese served with parma ham, and their creme brulee. Although I prefer burrata cheese to buffalo cheese, buffalo still works for me! And their creme brulee was one of the best I've had in a long long time!

This place is not cheap. So I reckon we won't be back anytime soon. I rather eat at Valentino's again instead!

Xmas Eve with the girls

It was our 2nd year celebrating Christmas with the girls on Christmas Eve.

And as usual, we brought along the honey baked ham from Cafe Noel, Clarice brought her mashed potatoes, and Ginny baked us a roast chicken, which I loved and had so much of!

The kids were kept busy that night with bubbles, hair clips, and just simply playing and jumping. They were also our source of entertainment for the night. Hah!

After about an hour or so, the girls warmed up to the aunties, and we managed to take really nice photos together!

Early Xmas with my JC girls

We met up with my JC girls for an early christmas gathering.

Debra kindly offered her abode for our meet up. I can't believe most of us are mothers now, with me and Cherine having 2 kids no less. Where did all the time go? I can still remember the day I entered the class of 96S41 for the 1st time after my 1st 3 months of boring college life at AJC. Am I glad I switched to VJC!

Thank you girls for all the happy memories during my 1 and 3/4 years at VJC!

On another note, I can just pinch his cheeks all day long! Hah!

the new McDonald at ECP

We wanted to head to an outdoor place for Kae to scoot, and we ended up at the McDonald's at East Coast Parkway.

The newly relocated branch is at the cluster where all the seafood restaurants are. Just head towards there and you will see McDonald's right at the corner.

Loving this new branch as it has a sea view, and it seems to be more open and spacious. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings as well.

Her 1st Lollibox!

There had been so much hype about the new kid on the block, Lollibox, that I've decided to order a 3 months subscription and let Kae have some fun since she loves such craft work so. Plus the fact that there was a $5 coupon code given on the blog Life is in the small things.

Kae's first Lollibox was the Moon and Stars Theme.

Each box comes with with 4 major components, namely Create (a hands on project to develop kids' creativity and expression), Discover (a theme based project to enrich kids' minds), Enrich (carefully selected activities and exercises) and Award (a badge to award the child upon completion of all activities).

And Kae chose to Create her first glowing moon. ALL materials are provided in the box. They even provide a bowl to mix the glue in and a bowl to place the balloon on while pasting the sheets of paper. Really very thoughtful!

I tried to let Kae do most of the work, but in the end I had to help her with pasting the papers onto the balloon. She enjoyed doing her moon very much, and was so excited to see her glowing moon the next day in the dark when the glue dried. No pictures sorry, but it really did have a slight glow in the dark effect.

Can't wait to do the next activity on another day!

Introducing food to the girls

We brought the girls for their first taste of Bak Kut Teh at 亚华肉骨茶 today.

Yah, I was craving for my favorite kidneys, and so decided to let the girls try their mee sua. Even with the non spicy soup, the spice taste is still there. Good news is Kae seemed to be okay with the taste. I can't say the same for Kerri though!

Legoland!

Dar is not one to idle his leave time away, and so we decided to head to Legoland when he was still on leave in December, during the school holidays, during the peak. Argh.

As it was the school  holidays, there was already a jam at the Tuas checkpoint. I reckons it took us near 2 hours to leave our place and reach Legoland. I read somewhere that during off peak days, it took 1 family just 30 minutes to travel from Singapore Botanic Gardens to Legoland!

Legoland is actually very near to the Tuas checkpoint. It's just like 10-15 minutes away by car. So morale of the story, please go to Legoland only during the weekdays, when it it not a public or school holiday!

We even had to queue up and waited a while before we got our tickets. And the funny thing was, the queue for the annual pass holders was even longer! I presume it was because they had to get the people to fill up some particulars on their application form.

We only took a few rides, as you will see from the pictures shown below. Each queue was like 45-60 minutes. Can you imagine how much time we spent queuing for all the rides? Faint. I doubt we will be going back anytime soon. Hah!

The rides are mostly for older kids, with a minimum height limit of 110cm for some and higher for others. So for kids shorter than Kae, sorry, you cannot take the rides, even with an adult accompanying you. Though there are some rides in certain sections whereby Kerri can join in too. Fret not, there is another section at Imagination, specially for younger children below the height of 110cm, where they can take part in all the rides and activities.

The Technic Twister at Lego Technic, with minimum height of 110cm.

The Aquazone Wave Racers at Lego Technic with a minimum height of 100cm.

Singapore at the Miniland.

Legoland Express at Lego City, where all the kids can ride when accompanied by adults.

Xmas season!

Junior Driving School  at Lego City for kids 3-5 years old. But I dont think Kerri can make it haha!

Boating School at Lego City, where you have to be a minimum height of 120cm if not accompanied by an adult. Else, all kids from 1-7 years old can ride together with an adult.

The only Lego Mascot we saw that day.

The Duplo Express at Imagination, where minimum height is 80cm if unaccompanied by an adult.

I do not know if I have the courage or patience to head to Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park next for Hello Kitty Town and The Little Big Club

~~~~~
We reached Singapore near 6pm, and by the time we drove to Cluny Court, it was near 7pm. And yes, to Cluny Court for dinner would mean that we are having our hunger pangs curbed with food at Bar Bar Black Sheep. Cam whoring time!
