State of depression part 1

I'm not in a good place right now. Everything seems to be going down for me.

Okay, I've not been updating the blog as I've been really busy with the moving of house. I've got like 30 backlog entries in my compose message draft box. Hah.

Anyway, we've finally moved on 23rd July. Yes, it's been 3 weeks since we said bye bye to Pasir Ris and hello to Shelford.

First of my woes, the new place. Everyday, little hiccups would appear, and we have to think of ways to fix them. Even a minor thing like the design and size of the drawers can cause a headache too. We did not custom made a lot of furniture, as the wardrobes, kitchen, toilets all come with since it is a new development. I cannot imagine the headache I will develop if we purchase a second hand apartment the next round, not to mention a house. Maybe it's because we are in a rush to move in. So everything has to be done quickly. There's the tick tocking ring in my head, so I'll get extra exasperated when things don't turn out the way I want them to. I believed things would have turned out better if we move in September, which is when the hungry ghosts month would have been over.

It's not just the custom made furniture. Every other piece of furniture we bought for the new place seem to come with a defect somehow. The princess bed we bought for kaelyn: the white paint job was not done properly. The white tv console we bought to use as a shoe cabinet: the extra shelves were not provided, and when they did come the second time to give us the shelves, they were too raw and unprocessed. In the end we made a trip down to the store and exchanged with the showroom pieces. The Ikea bookshelf and toy cabinet: we didn't know the bookshelf came with shelves, and we bought 5 extra ones. As for the toy cabinet, we followed the combination they had in the brochure but didn't realize we need to buy 1 more shelf for the base. So another trip to Ikea. The bar chairs we sought from Comfort Design: the chairs were poorly made, the PVC leather was not tucked and sewed properly, there are some visible white paint scratches along the chair black coloured legs, theres a hole at the base of one of the chairs, some parts of the PVC leather are dirty. And the Kelvin Giormani sofa: the off white colour we ordered was too yellow for my white black theme, so they helped us to replace the brand new piece with the showroom piece, which was kind of them, but the piece that was delivered was too faulty. It's a chesterfield design so the leather has to be sewn together. But the workmanship of the white sofa we were given was atrocious. I can see the stitches all over the sofa and in some instances, you can even see the holes of the leather at the stitches. I understand that for such a design, it's inevitable that the stitches are visible. So we went back to thte showroom and had a look at the other showroom piece and at our brand new piece which we exchanged for. The brand new piece was fine, I could only see 2-3 stitches compared to the 10-20 over stitches we have currently. As for the other showroom piece, it had less stitches thn my current piece too. Which brings the question to mind: why is the quality of the sofas so different? So it's just my luck to get a piece that's not done and sewn properly by the worker? This issue is still not settled, as I'm not satisfied by their "it's like that" reply.
