the Last Gourmet meal

We went for a dinner buffet at Bar and Billiard Room, Raffles Hotel yesterday night.

Boy was I glad that the meal was complimentary (courtesy of Feed at Raffles Gourmet), because I would not pay $72+++ per pax for a dinner buffet there. There was no sashimi, no roast beef and no prawns dish. Hiak. To be frank, the food is better than a lot of hotel restaurants, but definitely not worth the price tag. These are the only few of my favourites. Pardon the poor pictures. Taken with the iPhone.

New Rave!

I just bought this today. And I am so lurving it! Benefit's Posie Tint!

This kiss of see-through poppy-pink tint brightens the cheeks and lips. Also, the liqui-gel formula blends to just-picked perfection on all complexions and lasts for hours. It is actually quite expensive. I bought it at $64, and this is selling in the States for USD28!

I am also considering their other product, the dandelion. This classic ballerina pink finishing powder takes the complexion from dull to radiant in an instant, and comes complete with a soft, natural-bristle brush. I've tried it, and it works!

Erm, I really need to move to the States. Or anyone wanna tobang to USD115 to get free international shipping?

Busy busy weekend

The weekend flew by.

It was a packed weekend for us. We brought Kae down to Raffles Hospital on saturday for her last jab. Yes, finally! As usual, she cried. It is kinda funny how she don't cry when she had her 1st 3 or 4 jabs, and started to wail non-stop thereafter. Maybe she's grown and can understand what pain is.

After RH, we went down to Parkway Parade for Kae's Neuro Tree class. She has been improving week by week! For friends who have seen and met up with Kae, you would know that Kae needs time to warm up to people, even with people she sees on a weekly basis. But now, she's hugging all her teachers, and can sit on her little seat throughout the 1 hour lesson (she used to sit on my lap the whole hour!), and participating in all the play activities. Yay!

The end to our saturday was heightened by the yummy dinner we had at Seafood International at Playground Big Splash. I was too busy eating my food and taking care of Kae that I forgot to take any pictures of the food! I also didn't bring my camera! Hah! But the food is really good! Now Seafood International is my favourite seafood restaurant, and Long Beach is the next choice. Zhengyu and Kae got to mingle a tad bit, and Kae doesn't want anyone to carry her! Auntie Karina didn't manage to get into her good books as you can see, hah!

I brought Kae down to Bishan on sunday; my dar went to Malaysia to play golf. After which I went down to Liang Court for my pedicure touch up; Pink Parlour has this 14 days free touch up policy when you have your manicure and/or pedicure done with them. You can even change your nail colour within the 14 days! After nua-ing at Pink Parlour for slightly over an hour (I was watching 2 episodes of Sex and the City there), I decided to have my 1st meal of the day at Marutama Ramen. I am so having cravings for ramen recently. Hah! As usual, I order the nama karashi ramen, and it was yummy! Though some people would consider the soup salty, I lurve it! But of course not as much as I lurve the ramen from Ichibantei! Heeheehee. Miharu is so out of the running. Sorry Edna! Hah!

I met up with dar after his golf, and we took a walk at ION, as he hasn't been there yet. It was super crowded, so we left in a hurry. We were also rushing to our massage session at Spa Vintage. My last massage session was like 4-5 months ago! I badly needed one. And I feel a tad refreshed after the massage. I hope it's enough for me to start a new week!

the Beginning of something exciting

Today was Kae's 1st day at her PlayClub programme at Julia Gabriel Learning Centre.

We met up with Joanne and Claire for a quick lunch at Macs before heading for the class. Both Kae and Claire were quite engrossed in their biscuit eating. Heehee.

And so we began. The class started with singing and dancing. Although Kae did not go up to the teacher when she was called, she did put her name tag into the mail box when the teacher came up to her. Hah! Those who attends the class would know what I mean. Then it was activity time. They were taught to create a duck out of paper plates, yellow paint and feathers. But I didn't let Kae attempt this, as it would have been freaking dirty! Haha! Claire did, and poor mummy Jo had to wash the paint off Claire's top! We are so going to bring a huge top for the sweeties to wear in their future classes. Hah! Kae did the 2nd activity, which was to create a coloured quilt blanket with glue, coloured paper and glitter. Tada! Kae's 1st artwork at Julia Gabriel.

After which, there was story telling, then snack time!

Followed by free play at their playground area, and more singing and dancing. I think Kae's favourite was when they were at the playground area; she kept going on the slide!

After the 2 hour class, we all headed down to Mezza9 for drinks. I tried the chocolate martini which was highly recommended by Jo. It is Yummy! Heh. Definitely taste much better than those lychee martinis and cosmopolitans. Kae was super hyper during our whole time at Mezza9; she was walking all over the place and playing hide and seek with Jo and me; Claire was asleep. This is the 2 of them drinking water after Claire woke up. Heh. Cute eh?

Anyhow, we went down to the newly opened Ion Orchard after. Kae took the opportunity to sleep while I was carrying her. She slept for like under an hour, which meant that my arms and feet are aching like hell now. Hah! And oh, Ion is huge! I think it's bigger than Vivocity by all counts. Huge. Another new place to shop and explore, yay!

2 friends, 2 weddings, 2 countries.

I've known Amy since we were 10 years old, which was when we were in primary four. We happen to go to the same secondary school, and ended up in the same netball team. As luck would have it, we ended up in the same junior college, even though we were in different faculties, and of course, we joined the college's netball team. And now 20 years down the road, she's happily married!

The happy couple hosted a champagne lunch in celebration of their new status in life, although erm their status changed last year actually. Hee. I was delighted of course with this as I could feast on sashimi and foie gras, not forgetting the free flow champagne. The wedding lunch was fantastic; basking in the company of old friends, good food and booze. What more can one ask for?

Oh, and it so happens that another team mate of ours from secondary school also had her wedding celebration today, on the 18th! Just that she's now in Belgium! Congrats to you too Yvonne! Hope you had a great day celebrating your union, and we can't wait for you to be back in Singapore!

a boring day for Kae

Kae and I stayed in the whole day today.

The part time maid was supposed to come in at 12pm. Hence I did not make any plans to go out. (I am at a stage whereby I need to plan 1 day in advance what I will be doing the next day. Yes, becoz of Kae. I need to plan her meals, her naps, her timing, etc.) As by the time she was done, it would be Kae's nap time. But alas, the maid only messaged me to say that she's sick and could not make it today at 1245pm. And by then, I have prepared food for Kae's lunch. So... And daddy was off to his dinner and drink thingy tonight. So, we stayed in for dinner, as I think it is too crowded for me and Kae to go out for dinner and mingle with the dinner crowd.

Kae roams around the house. Sometimes when I do not hear her, I would take a peak at which room she's at and what she's doing. Imagine my surprise when I found her in our room, siting on our bed, and covered (her legs) in a blanket! Erm, surprise coz she hates to be covered in a blanket. She would kick the blanket away every single time we try to cover her with one, even when she's asleep! It's like she knows even when she's sleeping! Hahaha. I think she's trying to copy mummy, as mummy always cover her legs when sitting on the bed.

Oh, and this is Kae being super bored at night. She was just walking around the house and decided to hug this bedside table that we placed in the dining room area. Hah!

Fussy dresser

I am a fussy dresser. I find it hard to buy clothes. I find it hard to find clothes I feel good in. I only buy clothes when I feel that I lurve it 100%. That's me.

And I have been to Orchard, Marina Square, Suntec and I still can't find a dress to wear to a wedding brunch this coming saturday. How. Hiak. Oh this is a picture of me in a FUN dress! I couldn't bring myself to buy this even though I lurve it as I can picture even my youngest cousin wearing this! So young looking, and from Topshop! Haha. I don't want people to think that I am acting cute or trying to look young. Bleah!

I dunno why I am so adament to buy a dress. I guess coz since after Kae was born and the fact that I am not working, I don't dress up much; there is no need to as i am home everyday! So, whenever there is an occasion or excuse for me to dress up, I take it and go out hunting for the perfect dress, for the perfect occasion, for me. I want to look nice for me and not feel like a housewife, a mother.

I am so tired from walking the shops. Perk me up? Yummy dinner at Astons! Ribeye Extra Cut done medium rare with sides of coleslaw and mashed potato.

Can I have a personal fashion designer please?

of Shopping & Golf

This video was taken the day Kae turned 18 months old. A typical shopping experience with Kae. Luckily for us, Metro Paragon was not crowded at all! Heh.

And this is a video of Kae playing with her new golf set. Heh!

day when Kaelyn turns 18 months

We brought Kae to her favourite noodle shop today, Din Tai Fung.

As we were just at Raffles City shopping centre, we decided to go to the outlet at Paragon. The smart ass mummy decided to take the express bus 518A to orchard with Kae. Alas I totally forgot that the PIE is super duper jammed on fridays. Sigh. So it turns out we took like 1 hour travelling by bus. I was thankful that Kae didn't feel sick after the long ride; I was! Hah. This is Kae at the bus stop waiting for the bus.

And as usual, Kae ate like nearly 3/4 of the Steamed Chicken soup with noodle. Hah. And I am lurving their Crunchy Mini Cucumber in Spicy Sauce.

Mummy had one of her favourites too; macarons from Canele! We bought 6; the single dimension flavours of café, 70% dark chocolate, caramel sel and ramboise, and the more complex macarons: bergamote orange (bergamote macaron filled with orange cream and candied orange), milk chocolate passionfruit (smooth milk chocolate ganache with passionfruit), milk chocolate feuillitine (milk chocolate ganache with a hazelnut almond praline feuillitine centre). Yum!

Kae's Lurve for Pedipeds

Sorry but I just gotta post this as I just saw this on their website!

Heh, I am so looking forward to buy Kae the Naomi Silver pair under the Flex size. You see, they only had this design under the Originals size, which is for toddlers 18-24 months old. Erm, yes, Kae has got big feet! She outgrew her 2 pediped Originals 18-24 months size when she was like erm 14-15 months old. Hah. So now, she is wearing the Flex size which is for 1-5+ years olds. Hah. These are her past and existing pedipeds.

her first pair Isabella Red Patent Originals

Naomi Silver Originals

Addison Stripes Flex

and her newest pair Lily White Flex

Sorry lah, mummy just lurves to buy Kae pretty shoes, especially her pedipeds. Actually this is the only brand and shoes that Kae is wearing. She always picks her pedipeds over her crocs anytime. And when her newest pediped Flex arrived just 2 weeks ago, she didn't want to take them off! But of course, mummy is restricted by daddy. Hence, we've sort of have an understanding that Kae will not have more than 2 pairs of shoes, pedi and non-pedi, which is wearable at any one time. Hah!

Happy 18th Month day Kaelyn!

My baby turns 18 months old today! This is like a milestone for her as toddlers can officially go to school when they turn this age. Heh. And she will be starting her school on 21st July!

Hope you have a happy day today! Hah! Hmmm. Mummy will give you more biscuits. And play more with you today.

of Golf and JGCL

We bought Kae her 2nd golf set yesterday.

Her 1st golf set is the K's Kids Golf N Go Starter Golf Set. Erm, I really don't remember when we bought her this set. Maybe late last year early this year? We bought the set for her as she lurves to watch her daddy practice his swing moves at home and lurves to swing swing herself. Hence the golf set. And she really knows how to swing the club. She knows which end of the end she is supposed to hit the ball with. And she lurves to whine at her daddy to play golf with her when he's back from work. Hah, luckily for me!

When shopping at Robinsons last evening, I saw this Little Tikes Drive & Putt Golf Set. It is for 18 months and above. I thought it would be a nice "upgrade" for Kae. Heh. True enough, now she lurves to play with the new clubs. The old ones are actually made of soft material. These new clubs are made of plastic. And the new feature about this new set is the tee! Hah!

Anyhow, there will be more upgrades to come definitely!

Oh, and Kae is finally going to school! Erm, in the end, we've decided instead of the full day school cum child care kind of programme, we enrolled her at Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning (JGCL for short) under the EduPlay programme. For Kae's age group, she will be in PlayClub which fosters self-control and autonomy. PlayClub is a stimulating learning environment with a curriculum structured around letters of the alphabet and key Mandarin words, numbers, shapes and colours – all organised in child-centred themes and translated through activities such as indoor and outdoor play, music, art and craft, hands-on pre-science activities, stories, speech, drama and snack. Hopefully Kae will enjoy herself and be more pro-active in this programme. Then I will be able to stop looking for anymore schools for her and just let her "grow" in the Julia Gabriel and Chiltern House environment. Oh, and Kae will have a friend with her through the PlayClub programme; Claire! Heehee. Maybe Claire can influence Kae to be more outgoing and "make" her talk!

the little GYM boree

Kae had 2 days of gym fun last week. Heh.

We went to Gymboree last thursday. I was kinda bored at home and thought that maybe I should bring Kae out to play instead of walking the malls. So we went. We went to the branch at Harbourfront. It was empty; we went for the 1 hour session at 6pm. And Kae had the whole playground to herself! It's like being lost in Disneyland. Hah! But it is not free of course. We had to pay $12 for the use of the premises. Expensive indoor air-conditioned playground. Heh. I guess once in a while is alright.

Then, we went for a free trial class at The Little Gym located at Marina Square last sunday. It's a newly opened branch. So as an offer, they are offering free 1st trial class in July. If you should decide to sign up for the term which starts in Aug, you can attend the classes anyday in July for free! Heh. Good offer I guess. But Kae was not really into the programme. As with Zhengyu; we went with Zhengyu and parents. Hah. Imagine 1 kid being bochup about the class and the other not wanting to try anything the teacher was teaching in the class.
