Bye bye Civic

We said goodbye to our car of almost 6 years on 3rd Jan 2011.

Yes, our faithful Honda Civic Vtis was our mode of transport for the past 6 years since April 2005. It's been with us since we got married, moved into our current house, and drove both Kae and Kerri out from Raffles Hospital when they were born.

But it was time for a change. Even though we were sad to let the car go (since I can't drive and it's bloody expensive to own 2 cars when there's only 1 driver).

Bye bye Honda. Thanks for all the memories.

(It was updated on the website dated 24th Jan 2011 as sold. And then for the 1st time, the car plate number came out as 3rd prize for 4D on 2 Feb 2011! No, we did not buy the old car plate number. Bleah.)

the Arty Farty Party

We attended Claire's 3rd birthday party held at Abrakadoodle Cluny Court.

The theme was butterflies, so everyone was encouraged to attend with a pair of wings. Of course, we bought Kae a pair specially for this party.

The party was fun, and I suspect Kae loved the party as she loves to do arts and craft in school. The artwork of the day was a painting of a butterfly, what else.

And of course, the cake has to be decorated closely to the theme.

Happy birthday to you Claire! Hope you had fun on your special day. Looking forward to your next party :)

Kaelyn's 3rd birthday Part 2

We celebrated Kae's 3rd birthday in school and at Prego today.

Kae was all excited about celebrating her birthday with her friends. When I reached her school in the afternoon with the cake, her teachers told me that Kae was so excited and informed all her friends that I would be arriving with a cake for them to share her joy.

After the cake session in school, I brought Kae out to shop, and to wait for daddy to have dinner at Prego. The staff kindly sponsored a slice of cake for Kae after learning it was her birthday and rounded up to sing her a birthday song. Talk about being the centre of attraction.

So, 3 cakes for her 3rd birthday. 4 for her 4th?

But before that, I have to crack my head to think of ideas for Kerri's 1st birthday in June. Heh.

Kaelyn's 3rd Birthday Part 1 - Fidgets

We celebrated Kae's 3rd birthday at Fidgets.

Why the venue? To let Kae have fun on her birthday since she is now old enough to remember events and happenings. Plus she has been attending parties of late, and she always enjoy herself tremendously.

So that fateful day came. As usual, not everyone could arrive on time. Luckily for us, when we did manage to start the games, everyone were there. As we started the games late, we could only manage 2 games, which include the pinata smashing, instead of the planned 4.

All the kids were anxious to finish the games and food as they were all eager to conquer the playground. They kept coming up to me and ask if they can leave the party room after the cake and food.

The party was a success, all the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. So much so that 2 of them stayed till the place closed at 6pm!

Happy birthday Kae! Hope you had a great time on your special day! Love from daddy, mummy and kerri.

my 1st Gong Cha 貢茶

Finally, we managed to try the much hyped Gong Cha 貢茶. We only bought it as there was not much of a queue (which is very rare) then.

We tried the Gong Cha Alisan Tea and the Honey Milk Tea. The latter is nothing special. But the Alisan Tea is really nice! I think it's something about the froth like milk they use for the tea. Highly recommended. I'll definitely buy this again if I happened to pass by the shop when there's no queue. Heh.

Looking forward

Year 2010 has come and gone. And it's time for another fresh start, another year.

A lot has happened for us in 2010. The main would be Kae attending school, and the arrival of Kerri. For better or worse, we've survived the 365 days. And now, I am looking forward to the next 365 days to come.

So instead of dwelling on the past, I am looking forward to the year 2011. Yay!
1. Our 2nd nest. I can't wait.
2. Our 2nd car. My dar has been so excited over his new toy, finally after 6 years.
3. Kerri turning one year old.
4. Impending nuptials of a dear friend.
5. A long overdue vacation with the gals.
6. Maybe a year end holiday.
7. Spending more quality time with the kids. Since Kerri will be older, it should (hopefully) be easier to bring them to places like Sentosa or for a staycation as a family.

But all these would imply I am turning one year older. Sigh.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year! Here's wishing all a fabulous hopping year ahead!
