Strutting her Shoes

Kerri is one gal who loves her shoes.

Since young, she has been fascinated by shoes, her shoes, kae's shoes, my shoes, and daddy's shoes. She always open the shoe cabinet and takes out a pair to wear at home. And walk all around the house.

I have a sneaking feeling she will turn out to be the next Carrie Bradshaw. And it is of no help that mummy has been buying her tonnes of new shoes, when she has tonnes to wear from her Kae's old collection.

2 sick girls

My 2 sick girls.

They are at home because they are down with fever. But they don't act like they are sick. They still watch tv, they still play with their toys, they still annoy the hell out of me. Hah!

Decleor rocks!

I discovered another 2 eye products today.

Okay to be fair, I've only tried the Decleor's Anti-Fatigue Eye Serum, and it rocks! It perks up my eyes instantly, making them look less tired. It's what I call the SOS miracle! I will only try the other eye cream when I'm done with my 2 bottles of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Eye.

Appreciation for the teachers

It will be Kae's last day at Little Skool House this coming Friday, so I thought I would buy a little something for the teachers as a token of appreciation for all they've done for the past 2 years.

I bought some chocolates for Kae's 4 form teachers (past and present) from the Chocolate Research Facility, and 2 dozen muffins from Twelve Cupcakes for all to enjoy.

Oh my, the pictures are making me drool. Heh. And I've never tasted them before! Only Kae did. Haha.

Gone

The pediped which Kerri wore for barely a month is now lost forever.

Specifically, the right pediped. Gone forever, buried somewhere along Paragon, from Paragon to Takashimaya, or from Takashimaya to Paragon. We've been to and fro twice, hoping to find the one shoe in the midst of the crowd who are in town for the post Xmas sale. No such luck.

Bye bye shoe. You are soley missed.

Xmas Eve at Callidora Ville

We headed to Gin's new abode at Callidora Ville for Xmas Eve.

Nothing fancy, just simple yummy food, and hanging out with the girls, and 2 guys of course.

Last meal at Riders for 2011

Nothing beats the breakfast at Riders, even if its not from their brunch menu.

Dar's Riders Burger.

My Crab Salad Roll.

And the mandatory liquid.

Artease

Yet another bubble tea brand, Artease.

We chanced upon them when we were exploring Esplanade while waiting for dar's car to be washed. The whole interior decor of the shop was very modern, very eye catching, very arty farty. But other than that, nothing else is impressive. Not even their tea. I rather have Gong Cha anyday.

Kerri, the Book Lover

This is Kerri. She loves books. She loves to ransack the sister's bookshelves and flips through the books. She loves to tear the pages of the books when we are not looking. She loves to bite at the corners of the books when she is left unattended. This is Kerri.

Our 3rd Staycation as a family of 4

We felt that it would be too tough to bring the girls for a overseas trip as Kerri is still not sleeping well throughout the night and can be quite a handful to handle. So we opted for yet another staycation.

Alas, it rained pretty much the whole time we were there, except for a 2-3 hours pocket, whereby we went for Kae's favorite activity - swimming.

To her, a staycation equates to fun which equates to swimming. Hah. And to think we have a pool just downstairs in our estate.

And of course, I had to entertain the little tigress while the sister was swimming around happily.

Dinner was at The Tanjong Beach Club. And I think we should just stick to going there during sunny days in the daytime.

It was a total washed out day the following day, and we just relaxed in the room after breakfast. And breakfast was not good either.

Family pic!

Last Movie for 2011

Our last movie for 2011 was New Year's Eve at the newly opened Golden Village located at I12 Katong.

It's a feel good movie, well ain't all festive movies, but somehow, I find it a tad boring. The only twist I didn't see coming was the coupling of Josh Duhamel and Sarah Jessica Parker, and father daughter Robert De Niro and Hilary Swank.

I need another festive movie as good as Love Actually!

Kerri's 1st Dip

Kerri has been loving water play at Julia Gabriel's, so we reckon it was time for her first dip at the pool.

She was quite hesitant really, but at least she did not resist staying in the water.

After a while, she got used to the water and seemed to enjoy the aqua environment she's submerged in. More water adventures to come I hope.

Hong Kong Extended

The view from our room at W hotel.

We woke and headed out early for some last minute shopping before our flight in the afternoon. And to have our last bowl of wanton mee in HK.

Okay, so this is not really a standard bowl of wanton mee. It has wantons, fish paste ball, and beef slices. Not too bad, just that I thought the fish paste ball tasted weird as they added orange peel into the paste.

And so we went to the airport happily waiting to board our flight home to see our girls.

Who would have thought the trip home became an ultimate nightmare.

Long long long story short: Our flight was scheduled to depart at 320pm. At around 420pm, yes, we were still waiting in the plane, we were informed that there will be a delay as there was a technical fault which they were trying to fix. At 515pm, we were told to disembark from the plane as the plane cannot be flown. At 630pm, we are told that they need to wait for the spare parts to fly in from Singapore, and the estimated time of departure has been pushed to 1130pm. In the end, we departed around close to midnight, and reached Singapore at 4am. Argh! So much for refusing to take Tiger Airways as I was afraid that there will be delays which we cannot afford because of our very tight schedule.

Thank you SQ.

Hong Kong day 2

The first thing we did when we woke in the morning is to take a walk around Elements, which is just next door from W Hotel. Actually, Elements and W Hotel are in the same building just above the Kowloon MTR station. Talk about convenience!

We only managed to check out Carshoe, where dar bought a pair of greyish blue loafers. Stylish!

After the purchase, we headed to Maxim's Palace City Hall for dim sum lunch, where Aud joined us during her lunch break.

Frankly speaking, I was kind of disappointed with the standard of their dim sum. The last time I was in HK in 2007, a local friend gave us directions to this small restaurant which serves the best dim sum I've ever tasted. But I forgot where that place was. But I guess for tourists who want to satisfy their dim sum craving, Maxim's is the place to go to. The place is grand, with high ceilings and a gold colour decor.

And here are the dim sum we had. My favorite has to be the mango pudding. Yup, and that's not even dim sum.

After lunch, we headed to the nearby IFC for coffee. And I just had to take a photo of the one and only Apple shop in HK. Hah.

A parting shot with Aud before she rushed back to work.

And since we were at Central, after shopping at IFC, we just have to head to Tai Cheong for our favorite egg tarts.

And with nowhere to go, we decided to head to Citygate Outlets to see if there are good deals for us to buy. And buy we did. I didn't manage to get anything though. Dar managed to snag a couple of tops, along with tops for his nephew, my dad and a pouch for my mum. Yah yah, it's me. I can't shop at outlets. Haha.

It was quite late when we headed back to the hotel to put our bags. By the time we left the hotel for dinner, it was 9pm. We asked the hotel bell boy where was a good place to go to if we still need dinner, and he asked the taxi driver to guide us to a part of Tsim Sha Tsui, where we decided to pop into Lok Yuen Beef Ball King's for dinner.

As usual, I ordered the brisket version while dar had the beef sliced version. And of course a small bowl of fried fish skin to share.

I was quite happy with my noodles. Who wouldn't be at this late hour with an empty stomach. But their coffee tasted awful!

After our late dinner, we walked around Tsim Sha Tsui, with dar wanting to find this place he remembered from 2007. And found it, we did. Presenting 1881 Heritage, a cultural and shopping landmark in Hong Kong, transformed from the former Marine Police Headquarters.

The whole place is really pretty at night with all the Xmas lightings and decor. We saw quite a few students taking their graduation photos there.

And what better way to end the night with a sweet note than to have dessert at Sweet Dynasty.

Yes, I know, I'm a sucker for mango pudding. Hee. This mango pudding with pomelo and beancurd is super!

We finally ended our last night in HK with drinks at the hotel lobby.

Or so we thought.
