Bistro Du Vin

I have been on the lookout for good french food ever since the food standard dropped at Au Petit Salut due to the departure of one of their chefs.

Bistro Du Vin is the perfect substitute.

Located at Shaw Centre, with their pricing of $30++ for a 3 course set lunch menu, it looks set to steal the customers over from Au Petit Salut, which is a stone's throw away.

Of course I had to have their pan seared foie gras with brioche crumble, candied almonds and quince jelly (add $6).

While dar had their Char-grilled Aus. Angus ribeye with green asparagus and bearnaise sauce (add $10), I ordered their Pork shoulder and smoked pork belly braised in red wine with olive, pimento, onion and madeira.

His ribeye tastes just like heaven, how red meat should be eaten.

Mine was rich and melted in my mouth, drizzled in red wine goodness.

One downside is that their desserts are just average though.

Their Madeleine with chocolate mousse is nothing to rave about, while their chestnut cake with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, is just passable.
