Burger Shack

Having lived here for 2 years, this was our first meal at Burger Shack.

The whole place was bustling with teenagers during dinner time. Well, with their economical prices (as compared to Omakase Burger), it is no wonder the young adults of today love this place.

I tried their Moroccan Lamb burger and though the burger looked simple enough, the taste of the patty was just perfect for me. Juicy and tasty. Yum.

As of 2014, Burger Shack had gone through a revamp and is now known as Little Hiro. Besides burgers, they serve other dishes like teppanyaki rice plates, grilled meat, wafu-styled pasta, sides and a good range of food from their kids menu.

Presenting my favorite mooncake from Raffles Hotel, their snow skin mooncake with champagne truffle and ganache.

Now it is also Kae's favorite mooncake!

Mid Autumn Celebration

After Kae's ballet concert, we had a mini play date with the gang to let the kids celebrate Mid Autumn's Festival together. And what better place to meet than at the Botanical gardens.

After dinner, we walked around and found a spot where we lay our mats and the kids started their night fun with fire and sparklers. It was the girls' first attempt with sparklers and lantern carrying.

It isn't always easy to get everyone together, and when we do, we try to take a group photo of all the kids. Which is always easier said than done.

Ballet Concert

Finally, after 2 years of ballet classes, Kae finally agreed to take part in the school concert this year!

Okay, I'm not a big fan of colorful make up for myself, hence my colors are quite subtle for Kae. Haha! She was one of the few who seemed to be under made up!

After we left brought Kae to the University Cultural Centre to prepare for the concert, we drove to The Clementi Mall to buy Kae her very first bouquet of flowers! And oh my, Clementi central area has changed so much! I haven't been here since I graduated from NUS!

And then it was time to feed Kerri her milk.

The naughty one was so excited and wanted to see Kae on stage immediately!

It really was hard to get a good picture of Kae as we were seated really far away.  Can you figure out which was Kae?

My little ballerina! The only one who got all her moves correct! Well done baby!

Flock Cafe

Dar was on half day off today and so we thought we would bring Kae to try out a new place, Flock Cafe.

I like that their location is not near to the main area nearer to Tiong Bahru Bakery and the Hawker Centre, where it is hard to find parking. Flock Cafe is nearer to the likes of Forty Hands and the open air car park behind has plenty of parking spaces for us in the middle of the day.

They serve Liberty coffee which is good; their pancakes with strawberries earned Kae's approval and their prawn aglio olio was just cooked to perfection and not oily at all!

One of my favorite cafes at Tiong Bahru area for now.

Wine Connection and the Frog Prince

Today we are heading to watch the play The Frog Prince. But before that, lunch at The Wine Connection Tapas Bar & Bistro. Their set lunch is really worth the money. And the portions are not smaller just because we paid at a lower price point.

And then it was time for the play The Frog Prince! Kae is now always excited whenever I tell her we will be watching a play of any kind. Heh. Going to nurture her love for the arts.

Jamie's Italian

I finally got down to have a bit at Jamie's Italian ever since they opened with much anticipation in Singapore recently. And I brought my partner in crime who's having her school holidays with me.

The kids' menu come in the form of a binoculars, which made it really fun for the kids, but not for me as it was not easy to read the menu off the binoculars.

Crayons and paper were provided for the kids to doodle on and there is a badge for every kid to bring home.

And it was time to eat.

I read some reviews and decided to order their crispy squid which was highly recommenced. But sad to say, I wasn't impressed with this dish.

And don't you think their Jamie's Walnut Salad looks a tad unappetizing?

I made an additional order of their Italian Bread Selection, which was average.

The only item I loved was their homemade italian lemonade, which was so refreshing. The other glass of cordial was Kae's which was included in the kids' meal she had.

She had the spaghetti bolognese. Which tasted quite nice. But the portion was gone in just 5 mouthfuls. Hah!

The set also included a shake me salad which consists of fruits and some vegetables. I didn't even like it. Tasted too raw for me. Do you think Kae would?

I don't think I'm heading back anytime soon.
