Trial at Updog Studio Grandstand

After my last experience at Bikram Hot Yoga, which ended up with me having an eyelid cyst for 2 months, I've not considered doing it again. But I thought I would give hot yoga another try when Updog Studio opened a branch at The Grandstand, which is near to my abode.

Their trial class is free for newcomers, and what I like about this shop is that the teachers are very warm and unpretentious. The studio is not as big as other shops, but I prefer this as I get a warm homely feeling and the teachers feel like they are there to guide you every step of the way. Unlike in big classes, whereby the teachers can't even see clearly if your moves are wrong, which is very important to newbies like me. 

And so, I signed up for a 20 class card on the spot. Here's to my inspiring yoga journey!

The Phantom of the Opera

Finally! It's Phantom of the Opera day!

I thought the cast was marvelous! But the sounds system was better in the esplanade when I watched it years back. 

City Space

Dar and me snuck off for a quick drink at City Space Bar after dinner since the girls were not with us. The place where he asked me to be his girlfriend. 

We've always loved this place, with the relaxing atmosphere and superb views. The only thing is now you have got to have a minimum spend if you want to be seated right a the windows.

Jewel Cafe and Bar

We finally dragged our asses to Jewel Cafe and Bar for dinner today. 

As usual, their coffee is great. And I think their food is of real good standard too! A must try for lunch or dinner. But apparently this place gets crowded really fast, so maybe you would want to come early or give them a ring beforehand; I think they do accept reservations.

1st lesson at The Learning Lab

And so, Kae had her first lesson at The Learning Lab today, which means I have to spend another 1 hour 45 minutes hanging around in addition to the 1 hour 45 minutes I waste at Berries every Wednesday. 

And my time was spent at Cedele today, with my favorite drink and a slice of Salted Caramel cheesecake. Yum!

And guess what Kae got from her school for her first lesson today?

last day of Bintan Trip

I think I was the happiest to leave Bintan after 3 nights here. Bye bye Bintan. I don't think I'm heading here again. Maybe in another 7 years? Hah!

Bintan Trip day 3

There isn't much to do at Bintan in my opinion. We can't do spa or golf as the girls are with us. So our only entertainment is to enjoy the sun, sand and sea. It's beach time again for us on the 3rd day.

Lunch was instant noodles in the villa today and after lunch we head to the greens to show the girls what a golf course looks like. Apparently, they don't seem very impressed. 

For pool time, we went back to the smaller swimming area, which we prefer as it is quieter with less people, and the people there aren't as rowdy as most who use this pool are families with young children.

For our last dinner of the trip, we headed back to Rice again.

Oh and I brought along 1 whole box of sand art for the girls to entertain themselves on this trip. I don't let them do this at home as it is a messy activity for them. Hah!
