Boy, have I not blog for ages. Technically, that was since 30 March 2007. 1 year and 3 months have passed since. And now I am a mother of a baby gal :)
We decided to have a baby in April 2007. And I got pregnant in the same month. Heh.
Kaelyn was born on 10 Jan 2008 at 1849hr, Raffles Hospital. She weighed 3.465kg and was 51cm in length. Quite a big baby for a girl, so I was told. We decided to induce her before the due date 14 Jan as we were afraid that she would be too big for me to push :)
Time flies. Come tomorrow, Kae will be 6 months old. Looking back the past 6 months, I wonder how I manage to take care of her solo since after the confinement period. Well, I guess I learnt and am still learning along the way. What to do, as I am stubborn to want to take care of my own baby my way. Heh.
With the baby, comes a lot of sacrifice! I have no time for myself now. No time for my dar now. No time for anything except Kae. Caring for a baby 24/7 is no joke. It's more tiring to look after a baby than working for a living. I have no time for my meals during the weekdays, and can only enjoy my meal when dar comes home from work. No time for toilet breaks and baths. My Kae is a light sleeper, like mummy. Sigh.
But now, it gets a bit easier. We can make out what she wants (although not always correct) when she wails. Her sleeping and milk feeding time is now more or less regular. She will have her last feed at 11 plus in the night, and wake up again at 5-6plus in the morning for her 1st feed of the day. Her 2nd bottle will be at 11am :) . Gone were the days when I have to wake up 2-3 times in the early morning to feed her. Whew!
Oh, we are going to start her on cereals this weekend, after she turns 6 months old tomorrow. Sigh, hope that will go well :)
With Kae in our lives, me and dar try to make couple time for ourselves. During weekends, we will have Kae cared by our parents while we enjoy our couple time doing shopping, spa sessions, movies, etc. It is important to us that we still spend quality time together alone without Kae.
Golf was one of our couple activities. But I have since stopped playing golf, to my dar's dismay. My arms and fingers are not really suitable for golf right now due to my pumping of breast milk for Kae. Will start golf again when I stop pumping. So for now, dar has to go to the range on his own on weekdays, either during lunch or after work; and going for golf games with his golf khakis :)
Going out with friends is also a challenge. I have to make prior arrangements with my friends and my parents to ensure that I will be free to meet my friends without bringing Kae along. I am free on alternate Sundays (Kae will be at Bishan) to meet with my friends, while dar will probably make use of the time to go for golf games with his.
Boy, I am tired. Will update on another day soon. Kae will be waking up soon. Yes, I am free to blog now as she is zzzzing.
