Queensland Trip Day 2 Part 1 - Gold Coast

On the itinerary today,  Carrara Markets and Tamborine Mountains.

I'm quite skeptical about going to markets. To me, that means pasar malams like in Singapore, night markets in Hong Kong and I never buy things from there.

But the markets in Australia are quite different. There are stalls which sell food, and touristy stuff yes. But each stall carry different items. And the place is open with ample space for people to take their time to browse through all the items. Small cafes are available at each corner and toilets are SUPER clean!

The girls were initially bored and took to the Hello Kitty vehicle at once.

And Kae cheered up at once when we bought her a huge donut! Yes, time to rest our feet.

After the short break, we explored further. Carrara Markets is not huge. We finished the whole area within 1 hour. Our loot of the day was 3 hats. For us girls. Yay!

And it was lunch soon. We ordered a simple fare, which was delicious.

Our next stop, Tamborine Mountains.

We didn't really know where to drive to, so we just followed the GPS, and drove to the Gallery Walk town area. The main street area where we made a pitstop was really small. Maybe just 10-15 shops on each side of the road? Somehow, this place reminds me of the small town areas at Margaret River in Perth.

As the shops were closing soon, we decided to stop at Mount Tamborine Vineyard and Winery for a short coffee and cake break.

And on our way back to the apartment, we stopped by 2 of the many pitstops on the way for photo taking, the Tamborine National Park and the Rotary Lookout.
