Dean & Deluca with the girls

It had been a while since we've dined there, and so it was time to head back to Dean & Deluca again, only this time round, with the girls too.

You can call me and dar old farts, just because we always almost order the same food every single time at each eatery. And this time round, we ordered what we ordered previously for ourselves, their pancakes and big breakfast. How predictable.

For the girls, we chose their pasta of the week, which was some smoked salmon pasta in cream sauce. And they both loved their dish!

Athena's 1st month

Times flies, and baby A turns 1 month old!

Kids are taken by balloons and bubbles. And either one of these are usually provided at kids' celebrations. Case in point, today! The girls can just entertain themselves by blowing the bubbles silly.

Years pass us by and the group just keeps expanding. I reckon this should be it. Unless someone decides to have a 3rd. Heh heh.

Runs in week 4

This week, I decided to set 8km as my target distance.

1st jog in week 4: 8km in 62 minutes and 49 seconds.

2nd jog in week 4: 8km in 60 minutes and 19 seconds.

3rd jog in week 4: 8km in 58 minutes and 28 seconds.

Yay! Improvement in all 3 timings!

Hifumi Japanese Restaurant

I met up with Clarice and Jason for lunch, and not knowing where to eat, we just randomly chose a restaurant.

Hifumi Japanese Restaurant offers a all you can eat appetizer bar with the lunches. Which sounds quite enticing. But the food served at the appetizer bar doesn't entice my taste buds at all. There were maybe 10-15 small dishes available? But most of the dishes were potato based. Sorry, no pictures taken here.

We paid a small price for free flow drinks, and we could do a refill of any beverage we want. Though their beverages seem to be very buffet style too. Coffee and tea from a caffeine vending machine. Soft drinks were served from a vending machine too. All self serviced please.

I had their salmon sashimi bento set. I can't complain much about the food of course. What's not to like? I just love my fish.

I don't think I will be eating at this place in future. Nope. Not even if this is the only place with available seats.

CMPB again!

One of our favorite Haunts at Dempsey has got to be CM-PB. I love their laid back ambience, plus the fact they are tucked away in the far corner of Dempsey, with the greens nestled just around the outdoor sitting area.

And here we are again today for a early dinner without the girls. So we ordered something simple to share to fill our stomachs. Calamari.

And my ultimate favorite from this eatery, their Char Grilled Wagyu Beef and Wild Mushroom oven baked thin crust pizza! With wagyu beef, wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, white wine reduction cream sauce and mozzarella and cheddar, what is not to love? Except I have to eat more mushrooms because the hubs don't like them, but hey, I'm not complaining!

Churrosity

I've been walking past this shop a few times, and since I felt a bit upbeat after my massage session, I decided to give the churros a try.

I've been looking for the perfect churros after having them at Disneyland Tokyo. But I've not been able to find any that tasted as great. For me, this is average. But sweet tooth fans might want to give the churros here a try.

Lim Seng Lee Duck Rice Eating House

As you may know by now, you have to go have your craving for Lim Seng Lee Duck Rice and Porridge if you are a big fan as the shop will be serving their last plates of ducks on 22nd June 2013. Since dar was on leave today, we went there for our last plates before we forget.

Is it bad of me to say I prefer their vegetables over their duck meat? Their braised duck meat is nice yes, but not to the extent of queuing up to wait for a table. Well, we went early like 11am, so we didn't queue. Luckily for me.

WGS 2013 lunch at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse

The World Gourmet Summit is back, and this time, I've made lunch reservations for me and dar at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse located at Swissostel the Stamford.

I realized I love the combination of butter with parmesan cheese and salt. The trio when taken together with a nicely warmed piece of bread taste like heaven!

For our 1st course, we had the crab tower served with grilled asparagus, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. I loved this dish!

Our 2nd dish was not that appealing. Forest mushroom soup served with garlic croutons and truffle oil. It was too oily for my taste buds, maybe cause of the truffle oil.

The main course was filet mignon served with roasted cajun potato, watercress salad topped with salsa verde and au jus. I loved that the steak was not too small even though it was a special set lunch menu. And it was done true to medium rare, just the way I like my steaks. Good quality at a good price!

Dessert was a tad sweet; chocolate marquise served with custard sauce and toasted pistachios. Or maybe it was because I was too stuff from the 3 earlier dishes.

While I enjoyed my lunch, I wouldn't be returning to this place if they didn't have any ongoing promotions. Their ala carte prices are not cheap and while I do enjoy a good steak now and then, I don't find it worthwhile to pay so much for a piece of meat.

Runs in week 3 with Laduree!

This week, I set my target to 7km.

1st run in week 3: 7km in 56 minutes 17 seconds.

2nd run in week 3: Timing improved slightly to 55 minutes 35 seconds.

3rd run in week 3: I always find it a struggle to do the 3rd run in the week. Maybe because it's a Friday? 7km in 56 minutes 31 seconds.

My motivation for the week? Laduree macarons! My favorites have to be the chocolate yuzu and the salted caramel! Yum!

Kae the cyclist!

It's been a few months, and we finally decided to get Kae the Trek bicycle as her very belated birthday present. And so we head off to the bicycle shop to the delight of Kae. She was super excited! Though the same can't be said for Kerri.

The next day we brought the girls to West Coast Park to test out the new ride. And it was our first time to the park!

Kae getting all ready for her ride on her new bicycle!

Since Kae has a new bicycle, Kerri is now the proud owner of Kae's old Strider. But she ain't very good at it. Me and dar had to take turns to push her. Really bad for our backs!

Because she had been using the Strider learning how to balance, after 30 minutes of trying to balance on her own the day before after we bought the bicycle, she rode off by herself today at the park to our delight!
