Kae lurves to disturb me when I am using the latop. She lurves to take the little red scroll button in the middle of the lappie and give it to whoever and whenever. That is the reason why my lappie is always closed when I am not using it. Well, hopefully all this is going to change as she is now the proud owner of a Hello Kitty, My Lovely Notebook!
Hah! Erm, this is just a toy lah. With no functions or anything. Just that there are sounds when you press on certain buttons, and there is a manual moving screen, and there is a cd-drive that can be opened and closed and you can insert a cd like disc inside, and there is a mouse. Cheap cheap at $16.90 from Toys R Us. Hah. Let's just hope her interest in her pink lappie will continue. Until we buy the learning educational kind of lappie for her when she is older, like next year. And those are not cheap!

Pig-Tailed Piggy
I have been changing the wallpaper of my iPhone quite frequently. And this is the current one I am using. My piggy in pig tails! Heh heh heh. My sweetie!
Hmm. Now I have to find rubber bands that won't break so easily to tie her hair up tighter. Her current ones break damn easily. Well, what to expect. They cost like $1.90 for 20?

Ice Monster, literally
I finally tried the ice dessert at Ice Monster 冰馆 today. Erm, yes that is the shop's name.
Apparently, this shop name is quite famous in Taipei. We went to the branch at Plaza Singapura. They do sell cooked food. But I just want to try what they are famous for, their dessert! We only ordered 1 small serving to try as we were not sure about the quality, as it is not cheap! This bowl of Durian Mango shaved ice with mango sherbet costs $6.50!
The next regular size costs like $9 plus. Yes, it is rather expensive, compared to what you can get in hawkers and foodcourts. But it is worth the money! Think this is easily the best ice mango dessert I've had in Singapore. I will definitely return to try the rest, erm, not that frequently though, unless they reduce the price! Hee hee hee.

Forbidden Sweets.... NOT!
Maybe it's in our nature we lurve things that are forbidden to us. Like alcohol when we are not suppose to drink, like oily greasy food that gives us nothing but bad cholesterol. Maybe it's a case of I lurve whatever is bad for me!
Anyhow, Kae is starting to discover sweets, more specifically ice-cream. Argh. Blame it on my dar! Hah! He always give in to Kae when she wants to eat what we eat. Sigh. I do not want her to be like her cousin, who went to the dentist when he was like 4 or 5 years old as he had tooth decay! Bleah!

of an Apple, a Wolf & Fishes
We had a rather eventful weekend in my opinion.
I finally bought the iPhone on saturday, after much deliberation and swinging to and fro. Hah, you can refer to my previous post about this dilemma of mine. After 4 phones and 10 long years with M1, I decided that it was time for a new provider, Singtel. Hah. More so as they are the main subscriber for the iPhone. The phone is as cool as it is suppose to be. I am still figuring it out, but till now, I lurve all that I can see, hear and play. Hah. Think this is my most expensive phone to date. Okay lah, considering I don't usually splurge on phones? This is my 5th phone in a span of 10 years :) I only change my phone when my 2 year contract is up. Heh.
On sunday, as Kae was with my parents, we went to watch our 3rd movie of the year, X-Men Origins: Wolverine; our 1st was Slumdog Milionaire, and 2nd was Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was quite good, although official reviews were average only. Guess this is a must watch if you are a X-Men fan.
We had no idea where to go after the movie. After like 20 minutes of brain-storming, we decided to venture to Greenwood Avenue, somewhere we've never been to before. I've always wanted to go check the place out for their food. Especially the Fish Market Cafe Restaurant. Heard rave reviews about how fresh the seafood is. So we went and we ate. We had their sashimi platter, battered fish and chips, and pan-seared salmon.
Overall, their food is good. Their sashimi is fresh yes. But for the same price, I could get more slices of fish at the same quality over at Fishmart Sakuraya. Their fish and chips is very good! The fish meat is so soft and fresh! And I love their pan-seared salmon. Perfection! Plus their side salads are fresh and crunchy, their fries are good and I lurve their mashed sweet potato! Yummy! One small thing is just that the price is a tad higher than other places. But least the food is worth the price. I would visit this place again. But, do make reservations in advance especially if you want indoor seating.

a Big Bag & a Big Baby
Me and Kae went down to the Isetan Private Sale today at Scotts today.
I went down with the intention of just looking at Gingersnaps and Crocs. Which I did. I didn't stop to think for one minute that I would linger any longer to look at other stuff. Who am I kidding. I have my yellow bag with me, and a 11.1kg (the last we weighed) toddler with me. Hah. So I went, and I bought. 2 tops and 1 pair of sandals. Yay!
After like just 30 minutes, we left the sale and popped by Coffee Club at Borders for much needed sit down time, coffee and cake. Kae had an early dinner; I fed her the porridge while waiting for my coffee. She was kept occupied with the coasters and her biscuits. Which gave me time to sip my coffee and enjoy my chocolate opera cake; they ran out of strawberry shortcake!
The only regret of the day was this winnie the pooh jigsaw puzzle I bought from Borders. It is this huge 28 piece puzzle. And guess what, there were 33 pieces! And there were 5 pieces of duplicates. Which means I was short of 3 actual pieces! ARGH. Now I have to go back Borders and ask for exchange or refund. Bleah!
Oh, and Kae lurves to be in bookstores! She would laugh happily and walk all around the place looking at all the books displayed. She even saw a Thomas the Train book from afar and went to get the book out from the shelf! Hah.
Well, least she resembles me in this sense. I lurve lurve going to bookstores too! And oh, Kae also lurves shoes! Like mummy! Just that mummy is unlucky to have damn wide front feet, which makes it damn hard to buy shoes that is suitable for her feet shape. And that is also a blessing in disguise; if not, Kae will stand to inherit lots of shoes from mummy! Hah!

another SLH stay
We stayed at the Sentosa Spa & Resort over the weekend 8-10 May. Oh, SLH stands for Small Luxury Hotels of the world.
This was not really planned specially for mother's day. Our initial plan was to fly away from S'pore and have another short break, but alas as usual, we did not get down to planning early. Also, staying at sentosa meant that we only needed to be away from Kae for just 2 nights. So off we went to SS&R for our 2 nights worth of uninterrupted rest. Kae was with my parents who came over to our house to stay. I guess ultimately, the main aim of the stay was for us to relax, to celebrate mother's day, and our 75th month dating anniversary :)
Our 1st day was spent walking along the 2 beaches other than Siloso; Tanjung and Palawan. These 2 parts of Sentosa has really changed a lot. The last time I was at these 2 beaches was like 4 years ago! That was when we went to take our wedding photos. Hah. Coz usually we would head towards Siloso Beach whenever we visit Sentosa; Cafe Del Mar! Hah! I've never walked so much since erm, my last real holiday to New South Wales? Hah! Actually I think the beaches at Sentosa are quite nice, except that it is too blardy crowded, and that there is no straight line at the horizon to be seen. Heh.
Dinner of course was at iL-Lido. Amex had this 1-for-1 main course offer, but do call and make your reservation under this promotion. Apparently, that is how it is done. I have no idea why too. Just some kind of crap excuse I think.
The 2nd day was pretty much less exciting. As with Day 1, we lazed around the swimming pool in the late afternoon. Not before we headed off to Vivocity for a little foot reflex massage! Hah. And we took the Sentosa Express for the 1st time! Pretty cool, just that it was a tad crowded for my liking. And we took the Sentosa buses around Sentosa too. We need to take the yellow line bus back to SS&R. We ended the day with dinner at the food court Koufu located at Palawan Beach. The sunset was magnificant!
We didn't manage to do anything on Day 3 as we were too excited about seeing our baby again! Hah. Of course we have to take our standard bed pose before we left :P
All in all, the weather was kind to us the 3 days we were there; it didn't rain! Hah!

Déjà Vu all over again
I am experiencing Déjà Vu again.
I have been tossing and turning between the iPhone and the e71. Finally I think I want the iPhone more. So, we headed down to epi centre at Wheelock over the weekend to buy the phone. Epi centre is the preferred choice to purchase the iPhone at as dar can earn 10 times the points with the Amex card. Alas, they ran out of the singtel sim cards. That would only mean that the other 2 mobile operators have lost a lot of their business to the monopoly iPhone provider.
I received in my mail on 11th May a $100 handset voucher from my current provided FINALLY! Finally as I have been their faithful customer for 10 freeking years. And they only just decided to send me a $10 for each year as a loyalty fee. Hah. That brings me to my point: The letter was dated 6th May. If I have received the letter earlier (The letter only reached me on the 11th, and I usually open my mailbox at night), I would have gone down to my provider and purchased the e71, as they were having a promotion for the phone at just $268! And that is not including my loyalty fee. Hence, we called and asked if we could still purchase the phone; it was around 9pm. The person made us happy for a while and told us we can buy and she will deliver the product to us the next day. Then sadly after checking her system, she informed us that the e71 had been sold out islandwide! ARGH!
As with my loewe, my watch, and now my phone. It is Déjà Vu all over again. Bleah!

a Mummy for the past 16 months
This is a tad late, but Happy Mother's Day to all mummies out there!
This is my 2nd mother's day since Kaelyn was born 16 months ago. Yes, she is officially 16 months old on this mother's day. My baby will be going to play school in 2 months' time. I better buck up and decide on the school that she will be going to. Sigh.

another ME day
I had another ME day today. My parents were freed from their work today and came over to free me from my work :)
I finally went down to do my replacement NRIC. Yes, I am officially 30 years old, now that I have my new NRIC. I actually used a photo I took in year 2003 for my new NRIC. Why? Hmm, I have no other nice photos! Anyhow, the officer handling my application didn't bat an eyelid when she saw my photo. Hmm, does that mean I have not age since then? Heh heh heh.
After that was done ( I spent a total of 45 minutes at ICA), I went down to Orchard to satisfy my shopping hunger. But as usual, I couldn't find anything nice to buy. I did buy another pair of white pants from Mango though. Another because now I have 4 pairs of white bottoms from Mango, 1 bermudas shorts, 1 three-quarters pants, and 2 of the same four-fifths pants. 2 in different sizes because I have put on 3kg since Jan 2009! You can refer to my previous fat post. Hah.
Then I went for my waxing session and finally settled down at Coffee Club Borders for my coffee and scone break. Their Coffee Club Classic is real good, their cranberry scone is passable I guess.
How time flies when one is not doing work. Sigh. I am back to reality once again. That is until 8th May! Heehee. I will be having a 3 Day 2 Night break! Woohoo!

a Funny Sunday
I was supposed to be at Sentosa today. But alas, due to a funny reservist, a funny foot, and a funny gout, we had to reschedule our beach date again.
And the funny weather was not so funny today. Of all days, it had to be real bright and sunny! Of course, I was not at Sentosa! Argh. So, I spend the afternoon nua-ing at Starbucks One Fullerton. Hah. Gals, I think we are destined to only meet at night :P
