Children Season 2014 at National Museum of Singapore

As the girls have no berries class this week, I arranged with mummy P to bring the girls out for a play date, to the children season 2014 Masak Masak: My Childhood at National Museum of Singapore. The brochure can be downloaded here.

Somehow I felt that the exhibits were similar to previous years. Example, there was this room full of different cupboard made items and there was already a cardboard theme 1 or 2 years back. But of course, difference items were created this time round.

This area with all the giant size toys we used to play on our generation proved to be a hit with the girls. The marbles, and especially the 5 stones station. Is anyone still playing with 5 stones now?

I loved how images are created out of the toilet rolls on the second level. My favorites have to be the ballerina and the Effie's tower pieces. It's a wonder how they managed to make something look so delicate out of something so plain and ordinary.

This area is the most interesting of all. The kids are supposed to figure put ow the different goals should be achieved at the different stations. Like this station for example, the girls have to try to spin the wheel in one round and ensure that the Ping pong ball stays at the wheel without dropping off. Challenging yah? We spent quite a while at this area.

Lastly, there is this new permanent play section for the younger children at National Museum of Singapore now. It's called Play @ NSM, located at Level 3 within the NMS. There are 3 main sections of this small area namely Explore, Create and Perform. Well, it is quite small. I feel that this section is more suitable for preschool children. Not for the older kids.
