Oysters Craving

I was craving for oysters tonight and since my parents were helping me care for the girls at home, me and dar took the opportunity to head to Greenwood Fish Bistro for my favorite oysters and salmon main! Slurp! The oysters were mine, all mine!

Lunch with A&A

Today I met up with Audrey and Amelia for lunch at Tatsuya. Both of us had the sashimi set. I thought that the prices have increased. Now a sashimi set cost $45! I read on a blog here that it was just $28.70 in January 2014? Hmm. Or maybe there was a promotion going on then or something. Anyway I don't think will be back to Tatsuya anytime soon. I think I would just head to Yoyogi and try their lunch sets the next time.

Little A was intrigued by the bottles of umeshu placed behind us, and kept walking over to attempt to touch them.

And we hopped over next door to Saveur for some dessert. I was quite impressed by their sweets! We had some milky cookies and cream dessert and some pistachio panna cotta. Both were simply yum!

Little A loved the dessert too and had quite a mouthful. And he decided she wanted to sit on my lap and we took a selfie together!

Eighteen Chefs

After catching a star, we walked back to The Cathay where the car was parked and chose to dine at Eighteen Chefs

I wanted to try the Heart Attack Fried Rice with 200 grams of new york strips. I was so hungry! To be fair, I think I was expecting too much. The fried rice tasted alright. Tasted like olive rice to me. The beef however, was pretty good and decent for the price we paid.

How to Catch a Star

The girls were taught how to catch a star today. Erm, okay, actually we went to watch how to catch a star today. It was our first time watching a play at the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA).

We were super early. So the girls had a little snack right before we we seated.

I loved the set! Really looked so magical! And mind you. this picture had not been filtered or modified.

Us girls at the show! As usual, daddy was our chauffeur. Haha!

The show was entertaining in the sense that the actors incorporate lots of actions and sounds which made the children tickle. Seriously, I've never been to a play whereby the kids laughed themselves to death every few minutes. Interaction between the actors and the children was fabulous!

Rainbow Loom

Our latest hobby is none other than looming! Yup, we've gotten into the rainbow loom craze! I bought the set from Spotlight just on friday and the girls have been bugging me since daily to make bracelets for them and their friend. I think I need more bands.

Long Beach at Dempsey

We had dinner tonight at Long Beach Dempsey to celebrate my fil's birthday. The last we were here was like 3 years ago. But I remember I liked their food then. And this time round, I felt that their food is still good. Just a tad sweet I think. Somehow all the dishes seemed to have sugar added to them.

Their coffee ribs were real good. I myself was surprised at how good this dish could taste.

Prawns were alright, average.

Black pepper crabs are their speciality. Though I think I would have preferred their chili crab.

One mistake we made was to order their frogs' legs. The frogs legs don't taste as nice as those you can find at Geylang cooked in the clay pot.

The vegetable dish was not too bad.

Dessert was average. Ice jelly with aloe vera I think.

Organic Red Velvet

I love red velvet cakes, but it is not easy to find good ones. So far, I'm loving the ones from Cedele and Room Coffee and Bar. And today I found another place which sells good red velvet cakes, Dutch Colony Coffee Co

They sell an organic version, and the best part of it all, the cream doesn't taste too sweet! Yum! I am so worried now I will head there every time I finish my hot yoga class. Bleah!

Lunch at The Black Swan

I met up with Cherine for lunch today at the very popular restaurant, The Black Swan, today. Reservations are a must even for lunch on a weekday. All tables had a reservation card on them when I reached.

I love the decor of the whole place. Very chic european style.

But I wasn't too impressed with their food. They have a choice of a 2 course or 3 course set menu, depending on what you would want to order from the given menu. The thing that bugged me was that 3 out of the 5 choices given for the starters and mains required an additional top up. I hate it when restaurants do that. Why can't they take into consideration all the factors and charge a flat rate for the sets?

In the end, both of us ordered dishes which do require the top up. C had the crab salad while I chose the pan-seared foie gras. Again, I was disappointed by the size of the liver. I cab't believe I paid an additional $8 for such a small piece.

Both of us ordered the duck leg confit as our mains. Again, another let down. Though the exterior was crispy, the meat was sadly not too tender.

We shared a dessert in the end, which required a top up too. Their dark chocolate dome was nice. but hey, how wrong can you go with a chocolate dessert?

Maybe I would have be more satisfied with the other choices which do not require any top ups.

Evening at Sentosa Cove

Dar was on leave today, so we took the chance to watch Captain America 2. After the movie, we brought the girls to Quayside Isle when they came home from school to let them scoot and have some fries as their afternoon snack. Heh.

After the brief stop at Kith Cafe, we followed the girls who scooted to the main office area of Sentosa Cove, where we got a nice surprise. There was a new addition to the area. A playground! The girls had great fun at the playground, and totally forgot about scooting. Hah! We will be back fro sure. Hope it won't get too crowded then!

Dino Party Bash

Another day, another birthday party. This time, we were invited to a taekwondo party at Induk Taekwondo! Talk about kicking ass!

Pity the 2 tigresses weren't interested at all. They would rather paint their nails, courtesy of Teacher Pris.

Presenting the birthday boy! Happy birthday Julian!

And as usual, it was almost impossible to get the huge group of kids to stand together and take a nice group photo.
