Dar's Birthday Celebration Part 1

This year, we celebrated dar's birthday at The Ritz Carlton

Upon check in, the staff remembered that our stay was for dar's birthday, and there was a cake waiting for us when we entered the room. Thumbs up for their service! Unlike Capella, which I blogged about previously here

The girls were thrilled with the hotel stay when we brought them over in the evening. And there was another cake waiting for us in the room from the concierge staff! 2 cakes in a day! Just nice to have another round of cake cutting with the girls.

And soon after, it was time for dinner. We headed to Wee Nam Kee for some chicken loving. Well, because the girls like chicken rice, and we were getting sick of having noodles with them for almost every meal.

One of the main reasons for choosing a hotel stay at The Ritz Carlton was because we wanted to bring the girls to River Hongbao, which was held at the Floating Platform. Kae was moody throughout, just because she was anxious to get on the rides at the Ringo Circus.

River Hongbao 2013 runs from 8-16 February 2013 at the Float at Marina Bay.

CNY 2013 Day 3

With nowhere to go, and we were in need of dinner, we ventured into The Star Vista, located near Buona Vista Mrt Station. It is also home to the 5,000 seater The Star Performing Arts Centre.

Personally, I don't see myself hanging out here often. The main draw of this place is the numerous eateries available. Today, we tried the place Ricciotti. We ordered a pasta for the girls. And 2 pizzas for ourselves to share, Al Crudo (with rucola, parma ham, pomodoro and mozzarella cheese), and Pizzotto (with bacon, mushrooms, egg, pomodoro and mozzarella cheese).

Their pizza was not too bad, but I would have preferred the pizza with thinner crust.

We drove to nearby Holland Village for some coffee after dinner. The girls as usual had their fun while eating cake and playing with each other.

CNY 2013 Day 2

We only had 1 place to visit on day 2. But before heading off to my auntie's house, my parents, brother and his girlfriend came over to our house first.

And we took our group shots! Kae was shy and didn't take photos with my brother and his gf.

It was so hard to get a good photo of the 2 girls. They were moving and not standing still.

Finally, a nice one!

As it was pouring, the lion dance troop arrived 2 hours later. But no matter. At least the rain stopped and they did put up the performance in the end. Really a year of the water snake!

And we managed to take a photo with Cai Shen Ye this year. Without the girls though. Kae ran up the room to hide while the lion dance was going on and Kerri was too terrified of the mascot.

The 2 kiddos in green! Kerri playing with baby Justin, erm, maybe playing with his toy instead of with him. Hah!

And here's the youngest member of the extended family, baby Rayner!

A simple toss yu sheng before dinner. It seems like tossing Yu Sheng during CNY is a singapore thing. I was asking my part time maid who hails from China about their CNY traditions. They only celebrate day 1 and day 15 of the CNY. No Yu Sheng tossing, or day 7 celebration of the Ren Ri for them at all.  In fact, she only knew of these traditions when she came over to Singapore.

And Kae had so much fun hanging out with Kayla that day. They really have a lot in common. They attend the same school and are in the same session, though different levels. They even have the excat same shoes! Haha! And I was contemplating of buying Kae the dress that Kayla was wearing that day for CNY!

And it was a girls' night for the kiddos. Chloe also joined in the photo taking.
