Cycling Date and Crab in da Bag

We met up with Kae's friends and families for a day out at East Coast Park, mainly for cycling and dinner at Crab in da Bag. The 3 girls, Kae, Kayenne and Kadence were cycling for their lives!

And the girls decided to be the greater sex and managed to climb onto the tree. The boys took on a shorter tree. Hah.

Our group picture!

I've always wanted to try out Crab in da Bag ever since I've eaten at Cajun Kings and Dancing Crab. I remember that Crab in da Bag was always empty every time we walked past when they just opened. But now, it is almost impossible to get seats via walk in. Please call and make reservations in advance!

One reason for eating here with kids versus at Cajun Kings is that they have a kid's menu here, mainly pasta with sausages and corn cooked together, and served with a desert and drink. Note that we have to ask the staff for forks for the kids to eat their food with. Yup, straight from the plastic bag!

Their chicken wings were delicious, their fries were average.

And then came the highlight of the evening: the Caboodle Boil. We ordered the gigantic pot which is good for 6 to 8 pax (or so they say). I think for a good feast, it is just nice for 6 people to share. Everything is sweet and fresh, yes, especially their lobsters and crabs. If not for the hefty price tag, I don't mind coming here again for seafood! With orders of a gigantic pot, 5-6 kiddie's bags, 2 towers of beer, some sides of chicken wings and french fries, the total bill came up to about $200 for each of the 4 families.

And the crab (or lobster) came out for a special surprise appearance to sing a birthday song for the surprised birthday boy.

Updog Studio and Vegan Burg

And so I went for my 2nd class at Updog Studio. Loving how my body feels after 60 minutes of hot yoga.

After my class, I walked around looking for food. And I ended up at VeganBurg.

VeganBurg serves meat free burgers. Yup. You read this right. Everything VeganBurg serves is wholly vegan made only with plant based ingredients and contain no dairy, honey or eggs and free of any animal content. Sounds really healthy right? And they do have a kiddie meal on the menu for the young ones. And a sitting area with some toys to entertain the young ones while the adults have their food in peace.

My first order from this shop is the Hawaiian Teriyaki. And I love love this! I do not feel guilty after eating this plant based burger. Heh. Can't wait to try the rest on the menu.

Trial at Updog Studio Grandstand

After my last experience at Bikram Hot Yoga, which ended up with me having an eyelid cyst for 2 months, I've not considered doing it again. But I thought I would give hot yoga another try when Updog Studio opened a branch at The Grandstand, which is near to my abode.

Their trial class is free for newcomers, and what I like about this shop is that the teachers are very warm and unpretentious. The studio is not as big as other shops, but I prefer this as I get a warm homely feeling and the teachers feel like they are there to guide you every step of the way. Unlike in big classes, whereby the teachers can't even see clearly if your moves are wrong, which is very important to newbies like me.

And so, I signed up for a 20 class card on the spot. Here's to my inspiring yoga journey!

And then I ended my morning with a bottle of organic juice from So Organic within Pasar Bella. I feel so much healthier! Hah!

Jogging update

I have been jogging 2-3 times a week, and my timings have never crossed 10km in under 60 minutes, which is my target actually. Not much change in my timings. So I won't be doing anymore updates unless there is a change in my exercise regime.

Runs in week 10

I only managed 1 jog this week. Why? Because it is now the June school holidays, and I can't leave Kae at home to go to the gym. This week, I managed to jog on a Sunday when dar stayed home to look after the 2 sleeping girls.

1st jog in week 10: 6.69km and finishing 6.79km in 43 minutes and 28 seconds cooling down.
