I met up with C for lunch at Sushi Kuu today. 

The food are not priced cheaply. But I will definitely patronize this place rather than Tatsuya now because my last visit to Tatsuya was disappointing. Look at my assorted seafood on sashimi rice set lunch. Simply delish! And the sashimi all tasted so fresh.

 C has the assorted sashimi cubes on sushi rice. Looks real tantalizing yah?

Each set comes with miso soup, udon and ice-cream.

Summary of my 5 Day Hic'Juice Restore Cleanse

My second try at a juice detox and I chose the 5 day hic'Juice restore cleanse this time round.

Maybe my body has already been accustomed to the process of juice detox since I did once in April. This time round, I don't feel tired, and in fact felt more energetic. The last time I did a 3 day detox, I exercised only during the 3rd day. This time round, I managed a jog a day before my detox started, hot core yoga on my 1st day, hot hatha yoga on my 2nd day, and another 7.2km jog on the 3rd day of detox. Woohoo!

Having said that, maybe my body doesn't have much water weight, but mostly muscle weight, I lost less weight this time round compared to what I lost during my 3 days detox the last time round. And it was very hard to keep to the juices this time round. 5 days! I was so glad I managed to stick to the detox. I think a 3 day detox will be good enough for me the next round.

And here we go again, detox time. Though this time, I'm doing the 5 day Restore Cleanse from hic'Juice. Wish me luck! 1 down, 4 more days to go!

La Mer Eye Concentrate

I got myself a new beauty product, courtesy of the hub when he went for his Hong Kong business trip a few months back. But I've only opened to use this because I wanted to finish my Decleor Expression de Lage Eye Cream first. I've also tried SKII Stempower eye cream and gel (now not in production), Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Eye prior. All of which I did not see any visible signs of any improvements/lightening in my dark eye circles or wrinkles.

Until now. I've used La Mer's Eye Concentrate for a few weeks now, and I've noticed that my dark circles seemed to have lightened and the wrinkles around my bottom eyelids seemed to have diminished. I'm hoping this will work for me and that I've finally found my holy grail for my eye problems.

Bonheur Patisserie

And so, I decided to make my first purchase from Bonheur Patisserie today. I pass by their shop every time I head to Turf City for my yoga class as I always buy coffee from Dutch Colony (which is just diagonally opposite) after class. And I could not resist the macarons any longer.

I love macarons which are a tad crunchy and chewy, like what the now closed Canele used to sell. And I think I may have found the substitute. Plus they have lots of different flavors and their colors are all so pretty!

Little Wimbly Lu

After dinner at Cajun Kings with the girls, as next door Wimbly Lu was packed, we decided to head to myVillage at Serangoon Gardens again for coffee like what we did the last time the 4 of us ladies were together.

Imagine our surprise when we chanced upon the newly opened Little Wimbly Lu. It was around 9 plus and it was full house in the smaller sister shop of Wimbly Lu. So when we saw that a group of people were about to leave, we went in immediately and got the seats.

The apple crumble and the chocolate tart were good, but I find that the waffles we had that night were not up to their usual standard as at Wimbly Lu. The waffles, like what G said, tasted like instant/frozen waffles. Seriously. Or maybe they've made the waffles even before they received the orders. I don't know. I only know I will probably stick to their Jalan Riang outlet if I have a choice.

Common Man Coffee Roasters

Dar is on leave today, so we took the opportunity to head to Common Man Coffee Roasters, our very first time there.

We ordered their white coffee, but I'm not sure which beans dar chose. But their coffee is good.

As we were not that hungry, we ordered their Common Man Burger to share. Quite nice too, but hey, it is hard to go wrong with a burger, yes, no? Don't fancy their fries though. I love thin fries!

And their Common Man Churros proved to be too sweet for me! Took us some time to finish these!

Clarisonic Mia 2

Recently, I bought the Clarisonic Mia 2 during Sephora's members' sale.

I decided to take the plunge after Clarice's rave review of this product. And what a difference this cleaning device made! I can feel that my skin is silky smooth and super clean right after using it after the 1st day. I'm a fan!

Here's hoping my face creams and gel will be penetrated more into my skin now and better results will be seen hence!

Lucky Tuesday

I met up with dar for a last minute lunch date, and we managed to snag seats at Koh Grill & Sushi Bar. But as always, be prepared to wait for a minimum of 20 minutes for your food. Food is good as always!

And we were walking to Takashimaya Golf Section when we saw a long long queue outside Ferragamo. Yes, finally their sale is on! But I did not receive their mailer this time round. Hmmm. But as the queue was too long (as expected), I decided to forgo the sale and went on for my eyebrow appointment at Shu Umera. After I was done, I decided to head to Isetan and try my luck. As luck would have it, there was no queue, and even though there were quite a lot of people in the store, it was not as crowded as the stores at Takashimaya and Ion (where I passed by afterwards).

And as luck would have it, I was able to snag my favorite peach colored varina flats which I have been eyeing and waiting the sale for, and a pair of sissi wedges. Woohoo! So lucky that I decided to meet dar for lunch in town today!

I think I am really rough on things. See what happened to my rainbow loom hook! Argh! 

Lunch at Restaurant Ember

I met up with Aud, Ked and D for lunch at Restaurant Ember today. 

Their menu was super impressive. 6 choices from each category to choose from. But be warned, by the time we ordered, which was slightly after 1pm, 2 of the 6 selections for the main course were sold out, namely the tenderloin and the cod.

I love their bread. I think it was some tomato herd bread. Freshly baked with goodness.

For my starter, instead of my usual foie gras choice, I chose their pan roasted scallop with parma ham, citrus and tarragon vinaigrette. Yummy!

My choice for the mains was the pan seared Chilean seabass with mushroom and smoke bacon ragout, in truffle yuzu butter sauce. I love this dish! But somehow, the seabass tasted simply like a cod fish to me.

Dessert was the warm valrhona chocolate fondant with vanilla ice-cream. I finished this within minutes!

The original head chef left just recently in end April I think, and after this meal, I think the regulars should be pretty satisfied with what the new head chef has done for the place. I hope to be back real soon!

Facial at Chanel

To celebrate Mother's Day, Chanel offered a complimentary luxurious 30 minutes Sublimage pampering facial to all Isetan members, and I was lucky enough to secure a session.

I love how the products smell, a tinge of coconut and vanilla? And their facial techniques are quite soothing and unique only to Chanel, or so I was told. Hmm, maybe I can look into changing my facial venue to Chanel (only at the paragon branch at Metro).

Blips and Bumps

I got wind of certain happenings today. Okay, maybe not today. But yesterday or today or whenever it happened. I felt my heart sinking to the bottom. I just felt numb from top to bottom. I could only escape from the numbness during my 60 minutes of hot hatha.

How does one pick oneself up when one felt like the whole world was against him/her? How does one react when the one thing he/she thought would never ever happened just became true?

It is a gloomy day. Even the weather agreed.

Lunch with A&A

Today I met up with Audrey and Amelia for lunch at Tatsuya. Both of us had the sashimi set. I thought that the prices have increased. Now a sashimi set cost $45! I read on a blog here that it was just $28.70 in January 2014? Hmm. Or maybe there was a promotion going on then or something. Anyway I don't think will be back to Tatsuya anytime soon. I think I would just head to Yoyogi and try their lunch sets the next time.

Little A was intrigued by the bottles of umeshu placed behind us, and kept walking over to attempt to touch them.

And we hopped over next door to Saveur for some dessert. I was quite impressed by their sweets! We had some milky cookies and cream dessert and some pistachio panna cotta. Both were simply yum!

Little A loved the dessert too and had quite a mouthful. And he decided she wanted to sit on my lap and we took a selfie together!

Organic Red Velvet

I love red velvet cakes, but it is not easy to find good ones. So far, I'm loving the ones from Cedele and Room Coffee and Bar. And today I found another place which sells good red velvet cakes, Dutch Colony Coffee Co. 

They sell an organic version, and the best part of it all, the cream doesn't taste too sweet! Yum! I am so worried now I will head there every time I finish my hot yoga class. Bleah!
