Restaurant Week Lunch at Gunther's

My last restaurant week meal of the week, lunch at Gunther's Restaurant.

I've always loved their bread.

And this was the main reason I had to come to Gunther's this time round, their signature cold angel hair pasta was on the menu!

Both me and dar were greedy, so we topped up for an additional dish, their pan fried foie gras.

I thought that their main course, the grilled lobster with pilaf rice was very interesting. Can I have seconds please?

Both me and dar are not big fans of souffle, let alone lemon flavored ones.

We were quite stuffed by the end of the meal and couldn't even finish their petit fours!

Restaurant Week Lunch at The Boathouse

For my 2nd meal during restaurant week, I returned to the place where I held my ROM ceremony, the Waterboat House. It was occupied by Bacchus Boathouse previously, but now standing in its place is the Boathouse Restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by their salmon tart. A sweet and salty savory dish.

Their duck leg confit was roasted till perfection, crispy skin on the outside and soft tender meat on the inside.

Their rainbow cake was just average, Well, it looked too pretty to resist ordering!

Restaurant Week Lunch at Forlino

My first out of 3 meals at Restaurant Week October 2013 was at Forlino.

We were off to a great start when they served us their bread with cheese shavings. Sadly, it ended right there.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I find that their dishes were just average. Of the 2 dishes I had, I think their appetizer was the best. How wrong can one go with salad?

I ordered their slow braised beef short rib as my main course, and I was not impressed. The meat wasn't soft enough even though it was braised. It didn't taste fresh too.
