Primary 1 Registration for 2015 Intake Phase 2C

It is official! Kae will be a student at RGPS come 2015! It had been a nerve wrecking 3 weeks plus as we had to see the number of vacancies dwindle from 270 daily for Phase 1 (which started on 3rd July), Phase 2A1, Phase 2A2, Phase 2B. And came our turn in Phase 2C. You can refer to the different phases here at this link.

Luckily for us, somehow this year, when it came to Phase 2C, RGPS had 102 vacancies left (which is considered a lot seriously!), and all within 2km got in without balloting. So our move to Shelford was not made in vain!

Ballet Concert

Finally, after 2 years of ballet classes, Kae finally agreed to take part in the school concert this year!

Okay, I'm not a big fan of colorful make up for myself, hence my colors are quite subtle for Kae. Haha! She was one of the few who seemed to be under made up!

After we left brought Kae to the University Cultural Centre to prepare for the concert, we drove to The Clementi Mall to buy Kae her very first bouquet of flowers! And oh my, Clementi central area has changed so much! I haven't been here since I graduated from NUS!

And then it was time to feed Kerri her milk.

The naughty one was so excited and wanted to see Kae on stage immediately!

It really was hard to get a good picture of Kae as we were seated really far away.  Can you figure out which was Kae?

My little ballerina! The only one who got all her moves correct! Well done baby!

1st lesson at The Learning Lab

And so, Kae had her first lesson at The Learning Lab today, which means I have to spend another 1 hour 45 minutes hanging around in addition to the 1 hour 45 minutes I waste at Berries every Wednesday.

And my time was spent at Cedele today, with my favorite drink and a slice of Salted Caramel cheesecake. Yum!

And guess what Kae got from her school for her first lesson today?

Kerri's 1st lesson at My Little Genius

Kerri attended her very first lesson at My Little Genius today.

We are a firm believer of brain development classes after Kae attended Little Neuro Tree when she was 2 years old. We've seen the result of her 1 and 1/2 years of classes, and till now, Kae has a very good memory. Not sure if it just happens that she just has what it takes to remember things on her own.

And so, we decided to let Kerri have something to occupy her time with when Kae is at her ballet classes on saturdays, instead f letting her hang around with us. We will see how she fares after this term.

It's Confirmed!

Kerri has been offered a place at St James' Church Kindergarten starting next January, woo hoo! But then this also means that I will have to toggle 2 girls when they are back from school daily, and I have to cook dinner for the family daily. Argh. I shall enjoy the rest of my year now before the hectic year starts in 2014!

Kae's celebration in school

And so we celebrated Kae's birthday in school today. We didn't celebrate for her in school last year as it was her first few days at St James and I didn't want her to cry when I leave her new school (then) after the celebration.

And daddy managed to make it on time. My baby is all grown up!

It was a simple cake cutting celebration in school but it was our first time in her new Rainbow class. All the kids were pretty excited that they had cake to eat that day.

The birthday child gets to wear a birthday ribbon on the day of his/her birthday. This is to let them know that it is their special day.

And this pretty much wraps up her turning 5. Till next year!

Ballet Class

It was time again for an open class. Our first for the year 2012.

I think it has been a year since we attended one. Maybe the school had been busy expanding. We have been told previously, and there had been 2 open classes a year.

Kae was very excited this time round, and she performed better than the last time. She wasn't as shy and did everything she was told.

And she has a little fan in Kerri. Kerri was all hyper during the whole 45 minutes, and followed what the girls were doing. She was really hilarious, and I think she couldn't be any happier when she can finally start on her ballet class, next year maybe.

5 months on

Kerri is adjusting well in school. Though she may still whine in the mornings when the dad drops her off, she recovers pretty fast. I can see that the teachers adore her. Well, who wouldn't? She is your typical cheeky student, who go around to create havoc, and then looks at you with her almost sorry look, and you will just melt. My little terror.
