Kerri's early birthday present

I took the opportunity to buy Kerri's birthday present during ELC's recent sale. They were having a storewide 40% discount on all items. And if you are a citibank card member, you can get an additional 10% off. And since she seemed to be taken with the microphone when we were at the Angs for CNY, I decided she would love this as a super early birthday present.

Presenting our future diva with her very own microphone!

My present for Me

I was walking around in town today, and feeling a bit down. Coz I will be turning another year older. Sigh. And as there was a queue outside Chanel, I kept walking and popped into the store next door instead.

And I came out with my birthday present for myself. My 1st Celine Nano. Yup, a gift from myself to me. I'm a happy mama today. Heh.

Kae's Pirate Party

And the day finally arrived. Kae's pirate party at Amazonia Family Entertainment Centre. Look at how happy the girls were. My little pirates!

Okay, we actually bought just 1 set of pirate costume from ELC. The girls took turns to wear so we could take some photos. This was what they wore actually.

Amazonia has 2 party rooms. They are both essentially the same, just in different colors, pink for the girls and blue for the boys. As we booked real early, we got the pink room for Kae of course. And there was a boy celebrating his birthday the same time slot too.

And the party soon went underway. With Kae's friends arriving one after another, I was finding it tough to remember all their names and their mummies' names! Argh! The kids had a blast playing at the playground but I didn't manage to take much pictures that day, having to entertain the parents and running after the girls. And that few photos taken at the playground didn't turn out well anyway.

I do not know if Kerri comprehended that it was Kae's birthday party. But she seemed a bit sad initially. Maybe because her friend Ashlyn had not arrived yet. But soon, she started to play happily at the toddler's play area.

After about 30 minutes of play, the kids were ushered into the party room and gathered around for another surprise. They get to be young Adam Scotts for 20 minutes with the 3D glow in the dark mini golf! The whole glow in the dark room was totally in sync with our pirate theme!

And it was cake cutting time! Of course we ordered the cake from Pine Garden. I actually emailed them and asked if they had any pirate themed cake and they did! And I ordered the cake via email without having to go down the shop! Isn't the pirate cake ship pretty?

And it was such a challenge to get the kids together to take a great group photo.

And of course we need to have a family photo taken!

One thing about kids' parties is that the kids usually do not finish all their food! I had to keep an eye on Kae and made sure she ate her pasta and fries, else she would be hungry after the party.

And lastly, it was time to hand out the goody bags. Usually, parents like me would ask for RSVPs to parties and whether other siblings would be joining so we know the exact number of kids attending and be prepared to pay for the kids and the party loot bags. It is a form of courtesy ain't it? I shan't mention names, but there were 2 parents who brought along their other children without informing me even though I asked all parents 3 times if they would be bringing along their other kids along to join in the party. And 1 of the 2 parents actually brought 2 other siblings along! Seriously. Not even a word of thank you.

Hope you had a great party Kae!

Her 1st Lollibox!

There had been so much hype about the new kid on the block, Lollibox, that I've decided to order a 3 months subscription and let Kae have some fun since she loves such craft work so. Plus the fact that there was a $5 coupon code given on the blog Life is in the small things.

Kae's first Lollibox was the Moon and Stars Theme.

Each box comes with with 4 major components, namely Create (a hands on project to develop kids' creativity and expression), Discover (a theme based project to enrich kids' minds), Enrich (carefully selected activities and exercises) and Award (a badge to award the child upon completion of all activities).

And Kae chose to Create her first glowing moon. ALL materials are provided in the box. They even provide a bowl to mix the glue in and a bowl to place the balloon on while pasting the sheets of paper. Really very thoughtful!

I tried to let Kae do most of the work, but in the end I had to help her with pasting the papers onto the balloon. She enjoyed doing her moon very much, and was so excited to see her glowing moon the next day in the dark when the glue dried. No pictures sorry, but it really did have a slight glow in the dark effect.

Can't wait to do the next activity on another day!
