National Day Celebration

We had a mini gathering a Auntie J's new abode today. House warming cum National Day celebration. We were all decked in colors of red, pink and white. Yes, even the adults. Happy birthday Singapore!

It seemed only logical that we head next door to Ju Shin Jung Guillemard for lunch after the tedious wall climbing activity. And the kids were only happy to be greeted by 2 pools of balls once we entered the restaurant.

I've always enjoyed Korean side dishes (banchan). I can just eat them as my main meal!

We ordered their spicy bbq pork to share. While the girls had a bowl of noodles in clear broth each.

I like that this branch is huge and spacious, and that there is a play room to entertain the kids while they wait for their food. On the downside however, they do not finish their food as they are too eager to run off to play at the playroom!

Onsight Climbing Gym

Today's play date was hard work for the kids. They went wall climbing! Yup, Kae's first official wall climbing experience was at Onsight Climbing Gym.

She was apprehensive at first, but soon learnt how to climb with the correct technique and overcame her fears and doubts to climb to the top of the wall by herself. Kudos!

Even Mummy P and Mummy S (together with elder daughter K) tried the sport.

The 2 tigresses only made it to the smaller and easy boulders.

Cycling Date and Crab in da Bag

We met up with Kae's friends and families for a day out at East Coast Park, mainly for cycling and dinner at Crab in da Bag. The 3 girls, Kae, Kayenne and Kadence were cycling for their lives!

And the girls decided to be the greater sex and managed to climb onto the tree. The boys took on a shorter tree. Hah.

I've always wanted to try out Crab in da Bag ever since I've eaten at Cajun Kings and Dancing Crab. I remember that Crab in da Bag was always empty every time we walked past when they just opened. But now, it is almost impossible to get seats via walk in. Please call and make reservations in advance!

One reason for eating here with kids versus at Cajun Kings is that they have a kid's menu here, mainly pasta with sausages and corn cooked together, and served with a desert and drink. Note that we have to ask the staff for forks for the kids to eat their food with. Yup, straight from the plastic bag!

Their chicken wings were delicious, their fries were average.

And then came the highlight of the evening: the Caboodle Boil. We ordered the gigantic pot which is good for 6 to 8 pax (or so they say). I think for a good feast, it is just nice for 6 people to share. Everything is sweet and fresh, yes, especially their lobsters and crabs. If not for the hefty price tag, I don't mind coming here again for seafood! With orders of a gigantic pot, 5-6 kiddie's bags, 2 towers of beer, some sides of chicken wings and french fries, the total bill came up to about $200 for each of the 4 families.

And the crab (or lobster) came out for a special surprise appearance to sing a birthday song for the surprised birthday boy.

Sunshine 10's Field Trip to Marina Barrage

I accompanied Kerri to her class excursion today. And since their project theme was Rain, our destination was to the Marina Barrage!

First order of the day: water play! The kids were all so excited! Photo blast time!

After water play, we helped the kids get dry and dressed, and then it was time to go for the tour of the Marina Barrage. The tour taught the kids where water came from, how water/rain was collected into the reservoirs, and how the water was treated for our consumption.
