Cool De Sac

We met up with Kae's BFF for a play date today. At none other than the newly opened Cool De Sac located within Suntec City. What I like about this place is that they offer unlimited playtime per admission, so we can stay there the whole day with a one time payment. Also, please note that American Express card members enjoy a 15% discount on admission with the American Express cards till 31st December 2014. Details can be found here.

The girls had the most fun at the Backstage Area, where they queued very patiently for their tattoos and face painting.

This was also the first time I could let BOTH girls run around freely with their friends without having to keep a tight watch. Yes, Kerri doesn't need me to be around her anymore!

And guess who we saw while playing? The adorable Loh sisters!

The only complaint I have about this place is that there are no in house washrooms. So when the girls do need the washrooms, we have to walk right out into the shopping mall, and the washrooms are not exactly near. Other than this, I love the place. Food and beverages are good, served from Bistro Cool (which is part of Cool De Sac) just next door. It can get really crowded though from lunch time, so better head there before 12pm if you are making a trip down. One of the nicer indoor play areas for kids in town. I will definitely bring the girls back for more fun!

JEM and Westgate

It all started when we decided we were bored of the shopping centres in town and that we should explore the west side of Singapore. The Jurong side. Where I always get lost in.

Though a mere 5-10 minutes ride away via the expressway with no traffic, we've never ventured there. Until today. We drove to JEM and waited a like 5 minutes to get into the carpark and there was already a queue just before 6pm.

I was quite amazed as how big JEM was. But each individual shop wasn't as impressive in size. Too many shops/brands housed under one roof. And there were too many people!

Then we walked further out and realised that JEM is connected Westgate, another new shopping centre. I prefer Westgate to JEM. I felt that it doesn't seem as cramp, and the decor and ambiance of the whole building seem better.

One reason for families to flock to Westgate would be for the Westgate Wonderland, an impressive 11,000 square foot outdoor playground located at Level 4. I doubt however, I would return anytime soon with the girls to play. The place was overloaded with screaming kids of all ages, and parents all sitting at the side playing with their own devices. I just cannot be assured of the girls' safety with them running around by themselves, least they get pushed down by the crazy older kids. Seriously, no way. The only places at the playground which were relatively deserted was the rock climbing area and the toddler play area. Well, at least the girls had less than 10 minutes of fun at these 2 areas. But I cant wait to come back to this place to try out the different food places! Yay! No more Great World City and Vivocity! Haha!

Evening at Sentosa Cove

Dar was on leave today, so we took the chance to watch Captain America 2. After the movie, we brought the girls to Quayside Isle when they came home from school to let them scoot and have some fries as their afternoon snack. Heh.

After the brief stop at Kith Cafe, we followed the girls who scooted to the main office area of Sentosa Cove, where we got a nice surprise. There was a new addition to the area. A playground! The girls had great fun at the playground, and totally forgot about scooting. Hah! We will be back fro sure. Hope it won't get too crowded then!

National Day play date with TD

Kae and me met up with Amy and Theodore for a short play date today right after school. It was quite heartwarming to see Kae take care of Td while they were at the play area having fun. Let's see how well they will play together in a few years. Hah!

SingKids with Theodore

Kae had a play date with Td today at SingKids PlaySystem located at United Square. This was our first time at this playground. This playground is good for young kids like Kerri. All the equipment are padded as is the floor. For Kae, I think it is still alright as there are certain equipment that requites climbing and running around. But definitely a no no for kids 7 years and above I would think. Kae enjoyed herself very much at this playground, but I doubt I will be bringing her to this place again during the school holidays as we had to pay peak hour rates anytime during the school holidays which is $18 an hour.

For lunch, we settled for The Manhatten Fish Market. Also our first time eating there. The food was of quite decent quality and quantity.

It is always fun to see how Kae and Td interact with each other. I've always told Kae that she has to treat Td like her little brother as he's the same age as Kerri and to look out for him. That she did. And I'm happy that she put in an effort to play with him like how a big sister should. More play dates to come!

Kerri's day

It is Kerri's actual birthday today. And so, we brought a Barney (her choice) cake to school to celebrate with her friends.

After the cake cutting session, dar had to head back to the office and I brought the girls to Jumperzillas, which is now known as Fidgets City, for some playground fun.

The whole area is very very small, but since it was not crowded, it didn't seem that bad. The girls had their fun while I had my rest. One bad thing was you have to head out and use the mall's toilets should the children or yourself needs a toilet break.

We head home and cut one last cake for Kerri as a family. My pretty girl just can't get enough of singing the birthday song and cutting the cake by herself. Happy birthday baby!
