Queensland Trip Day 10

And it is time to head home! Our last group shot at Marriott.

We had a quick breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. And I was quite impressed by the wide variety of food served for breakfast! They even have 5-6 big fridges with food like yoghurt, cheese, desserts in them so people can have them chilled!

Soon after, we reached the airport.

Guess who we saw at the airport? Heh.

We had to feed Kerri her milk before we board the plane. In the hope she would pass motion first haha! And she did! During boarding!

I think Kae enjoyed herself very much during this trip. She got to take fun rides and go to so many different plaes. And she got to play at the beach. She is old enough to comprehend what a overseas holiday is all about.

And kudos to us too! We survived the 10 days! Heh!

One precious lesson we learnt. We would never take a red eye flight again with the girls. Kerri was so much more well behaved during the flight back. She had enough sleep the night before, and she thoroughly enjoyed herself on the plane watching her favorite Dora shows available inflight.

Our trip ended on a high; we sighted a rainbow just before landing!

Queensland Trip Day 9 Part 2 - Brisbane

And just as we thought we really have to end up eating at the hotel's restaurant, we chanced by this quaint little restaurant as we walked down the river broadwalk.

I liked the whole set up of Venice Restaurant. European chic I would call it. We were lucky to get a table as we were early. Most tables were already reserved by the customers.

Their food was quite good from what I remembered. Well worth the price. Quite an expensive place really. Their mains cost like Aud40.

After dinner, we walked out and saw that the Story Bridge was lighted up. Pretty!

The restaurant was only a mere minutes walk away from Marriott. When we head back, we checked with the counter staff and they helped us get a cab for departure to the airport the next morning.

With nothing planned for the rest of the night, we decided to let the girls have their last dip in Aussie land. As with Rumba Resort, only the jacuzzi pool was heated and kept warm. So, that was where we let the girls play with water. The swimming area is partially opened; the sides were not walled and you could see the night view from the pool area.

Queensland Trip Day 9 Part 1 - Brisbane

And it was time to say goodbye to Sunshine Coast and head to Brisbane. Loved the people here, loved the beaches here, loved loved this place more than Gold Coast!

And it was also time to say goodbye to our trusty car for the past 8 days. Thank you for not giving us any trouble and for ferrying us around!

After leaving our luggage at Brisbane Marriott Hotel and returning the car at Hertz located at Charlotte Street, we walked towards Queen Street Mall. Brisbane is a very small city area, and it is possible to just walk to our hotel from Queen Street Mall. With 2 girls with us, we walked a tad bit slower. Haha! We just walked around the shopping area, with Kae whining how tired she was. Yes, she walked the whole journey with us! Only Kerri was lucky enough to be carried throughout. Hah!

Four our one night stay at Brisbane, we chose Marriott, just because dar thought the hotel is on the other end of the street near to South Bank, where I wanted to explore when we head to Brisbane. But alas, Marriott is actually quite far for us to walk towards South Bank. So another time if we ever head back to Brisbane perhaps!

Marriott is quite an old hotel, and it is quite evident in the room decor. It seemed that our accommodation had been reducing in size each time we moved. I think after this experience, we would opt for an apartment to anywhere we head to next time. Kae asked me point blank when we reached our hotel room: Mummy, where is my room? Haha!

The girls had quite a bit of fun playing at the baby playpen, which was meant as a baby cot for Kerri to sleep in.

And after settling in and a short nap, it was evening time. We decided to venture out and see where we can have dinner. The thing is, Brisbane is a dead town on Sundays. Yes, it happened to be a Sunday today. Argh! All shops were closed and we were wondering if we had to end up eating at the hotel's restaurant.

And then we walked back to near the hotel and to the side walkway of the Brisbane River. We get to admire the scenic view of the river and the Story Bridge. The Story Bridge is a steel cantilever bridge spanning the Brisbane River that carries vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the northern and southern suburbs of Brisbane. You can also do a Story Bridge Adventure Climb, similar to the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb I believe.
