Queensland Trip Day 8 Part 2 - Sunshine Coast

It was our last night at Sunshine Coast, so we decided to eat out for dinner. And we chose to eat at Sandbar Cafe, located right outside our apartment. But before that, some cam-whoring!

I was so looking forward to dinner, especially after the horrendous experience at Surfers Paradise.

And of course, 1st order of the night, beer! Haha! We drank quite a lot in Queensland. Red wine every night in the apartment, we didn't want to bring home the wine we bought. And beer every time we dine out. Heh!

And as usual, the girls were just occupied with the iPhone and their glasses of water.

The girls had their pasta, and dar had their fish and chips. Not too shabby I must day. And what did I have? Oysters of course! My favorite! Yum!

After dinner, we walked around the area, away from the beach. We happened to bypass this ice cream shop Gelateria Milano, which seemed to be very popular with the locals. And so, we stopped for an ice cream for the girls to end the night on a sweet note.

While having the ice cream standing outside the shop, we saw a lot of locals driving here just to buy their ice cream. And all the other shops around were closed. I tried a mouth, but the ice cream didn't seem all that special to me.

Queensland Trip Day 8 Part 1 - Sunshine Coast

First stop of the day was to the Australian Nougat Company. As it was a Saturday, the factory wasn't opened. But luckily the shop was. This place only sells soft nougat, so for people who likes their nougat crunchy, please skip this shop.

After buying nougat, we headed straight to the nearby Eumundi Markets. This is one of the biggest markets in Australia, with more than 600 stalls and an annual visitation of 1.6 million poeple. Mostly handmade products are sold in this market, with the ethos of "make it, bake it, grow it, sew it". Indeed, this markets seemed to be more interesting than any we've had visited so far. 

But we grew hungry after just half hour, so we decided to have our meal first. We simply chose the one which seemed to be least crowded, and quite spacious for the girls to roam around in. I do not remember the name of the place we had lunch at, but their food was not too shabby. Coloring pencils and paper were also provided by the restaurant to keep the kids entertained. Thumbs up!

After lunch, we walked again. When we walked enough and wanted to head back, we then realized we only walked like 20-30% of the whole market! There was another area across the road which we did not venture to! OMG!

In the end, we bought 2 dresses and 2 balloon ball covers for the girls. And I love these items so much I simply have to blog about them!

The 2 dresses were from this store Sweet Petite Clothing which sells lovely girls' clothes. The nice lady also has an online shop here. The clothes remind me very much like the dresses sold at Elly. And I love love the dresses we bought for the girls.

Next, the most adorable balloon covers were bought from Eumundi Slings and Things. These are actually just cloth covers for circle shaped balloons. But once covered, the balloons become instant balls which kids can play everywhere and bring anywhere! Simple but cute concept.

And since it was our last day at the beach area (we will be checking out and heading to the city Brisbane the next day), we decided it was time for more sand and sea.

Queensland Trip Day 7 Part 2 - Sunshine Coast

After the visit to the Maleny Dairies, we headed towards Montville. Driving around at the hinterland is very much easier with a GPS at hand. Yes, there are signs along the way, but I feel much secure knowing we can navigate our way out with the GPS if we do get lost. If I remember correctly, we took the scenic route 23 towards Maleny and Montville. There are signs along the way to guide the drivers. So don't worry.

There were a few pitstops along the way for us tourists to stop for a quick photo taking. And so we did.

And soon we arrived at Montville. First order of business, lunch! We stopped by this quaint little restaurant for a meal. Camphor Cottage.

Their chocolate salted caramel tart was nice, as was their coffee. 

Of course we ordered a pasta dish for the girls again. And both dar and me shared their sandwich burger

And I loved this pink rock salt with organic whole black pepper! I am a person who puts lots of salt when eating my meat at Gyu Kaku! I need to buy this!

We ventured to the many different shops after lunch. We didn't buy much, mostly to take a look at what was avilable. In the end we bought just 2 rings for the girls.

And of course we had to buy chocolate from their famed Montville Chocolate Country shop. It was not as big as the chocolate factory shop we visited at Margaret River in Perth. This is really just a shopfront.

The weather was just magnificent . And these are photos I took when I was in the moving car. Blue skies and green grass, what's not to like?

After a simple cooked dinner, we went down to Bulcock Beach for a Twilight Market, which was to be held on Friday nights for 6 consecutive weeks. We were lucky to be there on the very first Friday night it was held. 

The market was held on a small scale. Though it did bring much life to the quiet nightlife of Caloundra. 

Our sole purchase of the night, churros! Somehow I cannot find churros as nice as those I had at Disneyland Toyko! Argh!

And yes, there had to be a Christmas tree at every apartment lobby.
