Organic Red Velvet

I love red velvet cakes, but it is not easy to find good ones. So far, I'm loving the ones from Cedele and Room Coffee and Bar. And today I found another place which sells good red velvet cakes, Dutch Colony Coffee Co

They sell an organic version, and the best part of it all, the cream doesn't taste too sweet! Yum! I am so worried now I will head there every time I finish my hot yoga class. Bleah!

Lady M Confections

I needed to satisfy my sweet tooth craving, and so I persuaded the hub to bring the girls to try the cakes at Lady M Confections after dinner.

Famed from New York, I was dying to try their signature Mille Crepe cake. I think I was expectting too much, but I find the cake very ordinary.

A surprise discover was their Gateau Nuage (which translates to cloud cake). This is their version of a classic cheesecake. And hands down, the best cheesecake I've had ever. It was so silky and smooth tasting. A definite must order if you head to Lady M!

Riders Cafe after facelift

And we are finally back at my favorite brunch place, Riders Cafe.

They went through a minor revamp of their premises previously, and this was our first time there since their revamp. And I like the clean look they preserved for the place. They did minor touch ups for the walls, ceilings and the main serving area. Very black and white colonial style which I love.

As usual their food and coffee did not disappoint. Both me and dar always have the same food when we are there. Blackstone Benedict (their version of Eggs Benny) for me, and the Riders Burger for dar. I still think they serve one of the best Eggs Benny in Singapore. But the Riders Burger seemed to have shrank in size compared to the last time we were there.

One must mention on their menu is their Death by Chocolate Cake. Simply rich and moist. Enough said. And oh, I don't think one person can finish this. Please order this to share.

1st lesson at The Learning Lab

And so, Kae had her first lesson at The Learning Lab today, which means I have to spend another 1 hour 45 minutes hanging around in addition to the 1 hour 45 minutes I waste at Berries every Wednesday.

And my time was spent at Cedele today, with my favorite drink and a slice of Salted Caramel cheesecake. Yum!

And guess what Kae got from her school for her first lesson today?

Arbite and Eat PLay Love Cafe

I wanted to bring the girls to Eat Play Love Cafe for some craft play while me and dar sip coffee, but they had limited seatings the time we were there as there was an ongoing birthday party, so we left our number and hopped next door to Arbite for some snacks first.

I didn't think the coffee and cake was that impressive, just average I guess.

We finally got a call from Eat Play Love Cafe and headed there so the girls can have some craft play.

I love the cafe. The kids can get to do their own craft work while the parents just sit back and relax with their food and drinks. But I did find the place a tad cramped. But hey, if the kids don't mind the tight space and can enjoy their craft play, that's all that matters right?

We will be back!

La Cantine & Jewel Coffee

I met dar for lunch at La Cantine today. This was actually for our 8th ROM anniversary which we didn't get to celebrate on 18th June. I thought their set lunch option today was not as good as the one I had the first time I was there. Though the dessert item was still the same.

Since it was his first time there, I recommended the lamb for his main course and of course the lava salted caramel as our dessert.

After lunch, we stopped by Jewel Coffee and had the biggest cup of flat white I've ever seen. Lovely coffee!

Gruffalo's Child and Raffles Place

And the school holidays are coming to an end. On our agenda today was to head to The Arts House for a viewing of one of the films from the Singapore International Children's Film Festival by Big Eyes Big Minds. "Curious Critters" is a showcase of 5 films, of one of which is the famed Gruffalo's Child, which happened to be my favorite out of the 5 films we watched.

After the show, we met dar for lunch and we decided on Da Paolo Gastronomia, located at 6 Battery Road. I love the whole deco and ambience of the cafe, with lush greenery right in front of our faces even though it's within a building.

Coffee was at Dimbulah Coffee located at Chevron House (Change Alley). The cafe was really crowded and we were lucky to get a table. Their cake and coffee we had was quite good.

Before heading off, Kae had herself a swinging good time at one of the nostalgic playsets at the Raffles Place Park just outside of Raffles Place MRT station, which is an event initiated by National Parks to commemorate 50 years of Greening Singapore. Playsets of Yesteryears are displayed at the different parks at different times of this year. Please click here for more information.

Kith Cafe at Park Mall

This was my first visit to Kith Cafe at Park Mall. And it was not a wasted trip. Their matcha latte was yummy, with no hint of caffeine or milk, just green tea goodness!

I thought their tiramisu was average. I prefer their chocolate molten cake.

a Very Good Tuesday

It was a very good Tuesday!

I went out for lunch with my girlfriends, and was dressed in my new dress and new shoes! Heehee!

And here I am with the girls at one of the UOB offices. We all met at UOB in year 2001, well, technically I met Eileen at UOB in 2001, I knew Ked from AJC in 1996. Hah!

And Thanks to E, here are my hard to get tickets for the upcoming concert! Woohoo!

And since I was at the area, I just had to get my fix of Kki cakes. I called them up and reserve 2 pieces of Mont Blanc before I head over. Why? Because they are always sold out by the time I get there after lunch! And I also got a Antoinette too!

It's been a happy day!

Carpenter & Cook

I finally dragged my hubs to drive us down to Carpenter & Cook today.

And I loved the shop's decor! Though the hubs wasn't too impressed with the price tags of the vintage items for sale in the shop. Hah!

We had their chocolate and lemon tarts. While I thought their tarts were great, they might be a tad pricey for one's taste buds.

Start of March holidays

What better way to start the 1st day of the 1 week school holidays that to let Kae do her favorite things? Art work at Fidgets Island and macarons at Canele!

Oh, this is for me :)

Me and Kae were dresses matchy matchy in prints today. Hah!
