Plain Vanilla

I don't always have a sweet tooth. But ever since Kae came along, she has been bossing us to buy her sweets, chocolates, and more recently, cupcakes.

And since I was around the area, I bought my very first box of Plain Vanilla cupcakes.

It is housed at a very tiny shopfront, more likely because they share the same unit with a hair salon. It's on the second floor opposite Harry's Bar and just above El Patio Mexican Restaurant & Wine Bar.

I bought 6 different flavors to try. From first row left to right: apple caramel, chai tea, strawberry white chocolate, dark chocolate, red velvet and cinnamon brown sugar.

What I like about PV cupcakes is that they use a different cake recipe for each flavor. Meaning each sponge tastes different, unlike majority of the cupcake shops in Singapore, who generally uses the same flavor for the sponge. Each sponge is then flavored further with a delicious frosting, enhancing the taste.

My favorite would have to be red velvet. I am having a thing for red velvet nowadays. Hmmm.

Coffee is a Sin

I met up with my friends for lunch at Oriole Coffee.

This post is not about their food. It's their coffee. This time round, at Jason's recommendation, I had their Citrus Sin.

Its one of their Competition Coffee and it's actually double ristretto with spiced orange juice and steamed milk. And it's really yummy. It's very strong with a slight tinge of citrus taste. If you want the citrus taste to be stronger, you can squeeze more orange juice in the coffee with the slice of orange provided.

Heavenly!

PS Cafe at Dempsey

We had a coffee break at PS Cafe. I never really like PS Cafe. This is only my second time st their Dempsey branch. The first time I was there, I felt the whole poser vibe there. The food is average, or maybe they've improved. The only thing I like about them is their desserts.

The chocolate cake is quite expensive. It costs $8ish! But when it was served to us, I realize why. The slice is huge. And it comes with a scoop of ice cream.

Sunday Brunch at Paulaner Brauhaus

We went for a Sunday Brunch with the friends at Paulaner Brauhaus. Basically it's a buffet of sausages, meat and different forms of potatoes with free flow beer!

What's good about the brunch is that the kids can to be entertained! They spent the whole time at the kids area, where blocks are set up for them to play, and they get tattoos painted too! As it was not that crowded that day, Kae had a total of 3 tattoos done. Of which the unicorn is the biggest!

Both she and her favorite big sister got one on their arms.

I joined in the fun too with a tigger on my hand. Heh heh.

Please check out their website and give them a call to see if the Sunday brunch event is ongoing. Reservations are recommended as the place was quite full with large groups when we were there.
