Finally, after having lived here for a year, we headed to Penang Kitchen for dinner.

It is always easier to eat without the girls in tow. And since it was just the 2 of us, we ordered some spicy goodness! The penang hokkien prawn mee and assam laksa!

The food is nice! I loved my laksa! Refreshing because of the abundunt cucumbers and pineapples, and yet the gravy is spicy and not that sour with heaps of minced fish meat swimming in it. The only downside is that the food is a tad expensive. The price of 1 bowl is about $8ish. Yup. Ouch. But the food is well worth a try!

another Maniac Monday

For the second Monday in a row, we went to visit the clinic again. The girls had recovered from their fever, but last night it came back, and I decided they have to see the GP again as their medication was running out.

The bad news was I had to bring Kerri for a blood test. Kae was alright, but as Kerri had rashes on her body for a week, and the GP wanted to make sure it was not a case of dengue. And so, we made our very first visit to the Children Emergency unit at KK Women's and Children's hospital.

My little tigress fared pretty well on her first visit. She didn't flinch an eye when the doctors and nurses examined her. She was super excited to be at an unfamiliar territory. 

She didn't even whimper when the nurse pricked her finger to take her blood for the blood test. My very brave girl!

And since we had to wait about an hour for the results of the blood test, we roamed around the hospital to pass time. Kerri was happy to step into a mini toy store and walk around the shop. 

We also stopped at Delifrance for a quick lunch. I used to go Delifrance often during school days to have my favorite Seafood D'sire Croissant. I rememeber it used to cost like $8ish for a set? Now it sets me back by $11ish! Inflation really kills.

The results came back good, Kerri was cleared of any dengue suspicion. Yay!

Typical Sat Night

It was a typical saturday night for us. After the girls' afternoon nap, we had to decide where to go for dnner. And the dar decided on Din Tai Fung, the girls' favorite noodle eating place.

Look at how happy the girls were! Even when we had to wait for nearly 25 minutes for a table! The branch at Paragon is clearly more efficient!

Yes, the girls love their noodles. Every time we eat out with them, we have to go to places where they sell noodles or pasta. Even at home, I think I cook more noodles and pasta for them than rice! It's more for Kerri actually; we could still coax Kae into eating rice. But the little tigress only wants her stringy carbo!

Kerri is adjusting well in school. Though she may still whine in the mornings when the dad drops her off, she recovers pretty fast. I can see that the teachers adore her. Well, who wouldn't? She is your typical cheeky student, who go around to create havoc, and then looks at you with her almost sorry look, and you will just melt. My little terror.

School Excursion

Kae was all excited today when she woke today. Excursion day!

The school organizes an excursion for them every term. And this term, they are headed for a Duck and Hippo tour of Singapore!

I didn't tag along with the class; a maximum of 6-8 parents can tag along with a fee. For both Kae and Kerri, I only went for their very 1st excursion at Little Skool House, and I sopped thereafter. Call me lazy, but I thought it would be best for the girls as they can then enjoy themselves with their friends and not cling to me every second.
