Kae's 1st Play Date

After a year at St James, Kae finally had her very first play date with her bff Alana.

Alana is Kae's classmate cum bus-mate. They take the same bus to and from school, and sit with each other in the bus. She lives just mere minutes away from us via car. And the 2 girls will still be classmates next year; their current class is spilt into 2 different classes next year with another class.

The girls are just too sweet together. Once Alana arrived, they cannot stop smiling at each other. They kept laughing and jumping for joy. And their first order of the day. kitchen play.

After about 40 minutes, the girls proceeded to do some craft work, finger puppets. I bought some for Kerri's school homework, and there were extras. Not cheap though, they cost $3 each? From Spotlight. There are lots of animals to choose from. I bought a Hippo for Kerri, Kae did a Zebra and Alana did a Lion.

For lunch, the girls had the Happy Meal from McDonald's. Yup, I didn't cook. Hah!

And the final activity of the day was Ring painting! The girls get to paint and create their own rings. 5 rings each. They were super excited! I bought this during a sale. Faber Castell has quite a collection of creative craft for kids. And they are quite easy for them to do.

Till the next play date!

The Wine Company

Dinner tonight was at a very cosy place. The Wine Company at Evans Lodge. It is just minutes away from our place by car, and as usual we decided at the last minute to head there for dinner. A late dinner actually as it was raining very heavily that evening and we were waiting out the rain.

The whole place looks very formal and yet cosy and warm at the same time. I think it is how the decor matches the dim lightings.

My 2 girls love the place. Even though the place is not very kid friendly, as they didn't have any high chairs and kids' cutlery, I like it that the place is quite spacious with 2 indoor sections. We sat in the section which was quieter with just another table taken up by another family with a toddler, as the other side was full of adults chattering.

Each of us waiting for dinner. We were all hungry!

As usual, we ordered 2 pasta dishes, one tomato and one cream (as Kae usually take the tomato and Kerri the cream), 500ml of red wine, a pizza and some nachos for the girls. All for just $70ish! The prices are really easy on the pocket for a restaurant!

Me with the girls!

Hello Kitty, Fidgets Island, Canele

It was a long day today. And this is going to be a super long post.

Today marks the 2nd day of Kae's long year end holiday. And I decided to bring her to her very first Christmas show of the holiday season. The Hello Kitty show at Takashimaya Basement Square.

Maybe it was because it was the very first show, the queue to get in wasn't very long. We could all fit nicely into the very small sitting area. Oh and I reached like 15 minutes before the show started.

And the show began! Basically the storyline is as follows: Kitty's friends, My Melody, Dear Daniel, and Badtz-Maru are all taking part in this Karaoke Contest, when Badtz-Maru decided to be the bad ass and screwed the machine up after the first round. The second round turned out to be horrendous and together with the audience, the 4 friends fixed the machine in the end and finished the show on a high with the ever popular theme song from Glee, Don't Stop Believing. Yes, the songs they sang were more suitable for the adults. Examples are Moves Like Jagger from Maroon 5, I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston, I Don't Feel Like Dancing by Scissor Sisters, and so on. YOu get the picture. The show was about 25-30 minutes long, which made the queueing worth well, but I think the kids may be bored with the songs they hear. But Kae still enjoyed herself!

And the highlight is of course the photo taking taking with Kitty and Daniel!

By the way, you can refer to Cheekiemonkies for the list of all the Christmas shows this holiday season.

Next stop, Fidgets Island at Paragon. Time for Kae to do her favorite activity, craft work! She's a lover of handicraft and with the school holidays here, she has to miss her favorite art enrichment classes in school. And so, what can make her happier than to spend an afternoon of doing what she loves.

I didn't want to squeeze in with Kae at the art corner in case other kids should come and there will be a shortage of space. So, I headed to the nearest available seat out of the art space, the PC corner for kids

Now that we've been there once, I will just leave her there and do my shopping the next time. The staff there are very nice and patient, and Kae seems to be happy just being there alone without me. And here is my happy girl with her creations!

Oven Baked Chicken

This is nothing to boast about seriously. For me who knows nothing about cooking and baking, using the oven is a new thing to me. Really.

So don't laugh when you see this, my very first try at a oven baked chicken chop.

Anyone can advise how to stop the oil from splattering within the oven? The top of my oven is covered with a small amount of grey which I cannot wipe off. Also, what pots are good for baking food? The grey tray was for baking my brownie earlier in the year. Can use the same pots and trays for baking and cooking?

See, I told you I am a super novice at the use of an oven.
