Dinner, Drinks, Dessert in the Neighborhood

We went to the newly opened Bar Bar Black Sheep at Cluny Court for dinner earlier on.

As it was quite dark, I didn't manage to take any photos of the food or the surroundings. But this new branch at Cluny Court is definitely more spacious and more kids friendly than the branch at Cherry Avenue. Some photos of the Cluny Court branch here, taken from their facebook page. 

You can enter via the entrance directly opposite the Botanic Gardens Mrt Station, where you will see the big balloon, or if you are walking over from Serene Centre, you will see there is a enter decal next to the car tyre shop.

The food we had tonight was great! The girls shared a Granchio (crab meat pasta in tomato sauce), dar had Cheese Nann with Mutton Mysore and I had the Caesar Salad; their Thai kitchen was not opened yet. And of course we loved the $5 for any draught glass promotion. This promotion is ongoing till end of October 2012.

After dinner, we went next door to Island Creamery for some ice-cream of course. Kae was so happy to have her favorite Reverso flavor. And Kerri was just contented dancing on the seat.

The dad tried to get them to pose for a funny pic, but guess who was the funniest one?

Maybe she was just trying to be funny as a koala, quite apt actually, since we will be heading to Aussie land end november!

Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Show

It's that time of the year again, Mickey and his friends are visiting Singapore!

We brought Kae to a Disney Live! show last year and she was terrified of the noise. Judging from her recent reaction to the Hi 5! show, she's starting to love attending musicals and performances, and so, I intend to bring her to the Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Show this year before we head off for our year end holiday trip!

Restaurant Week at Stellar

I met up with Cherine and Clarice for lunch at Stellar.

Stellar is located at Level 62 of the former OUB Centre, which is now called One Raffles Place. I was thinking of taking this opportunity to give Clarice a birthday treat since it was Restaurant Week. And Cherine then asked if we wanted to meet for lunch the same week. So after checking with Cherine about the birthday treat, I managed to change the reservation for 2 to 3 pax. You see, you need to make reservations online at the Restaurant Week website and sometimes, as it's Restaurant Week, some places gets fully booked. 

After the disappointing experience earlier in the week, I went to Stellar with not much expectations. As their reviews have been quite mixed so far. 

As Clarice was late, Cherine and myself ordered some latte to sip while waiting. We were both in need of caffeine.

Clarice had their Tuna Tartare served with mascarpone cheese, petite salad and melba toast.

Cherine and me both ordered the same for all the 3 courses! Our choice of appetizer was the seafood Roll with prawn, salmon, romaine lettuce, sesame sauce served with 3 slices of swordfish sashimi.

The belated birthday girl chose the fillet of sea bass with smoked eggplant puree for her main.

Me and Cherine had the oven roasted corn-fed chicken with foie gras pilaf and chicken jus. Bad choice! The chicken tasted real dry. I only finished the drumstick. Heh!

Our choice of dessert was the coconut mousse with rhum jelly and pineapple rum sorbet. 

We did inform the wait staff that it was Clarice's birthday before she arrived. I was expecting just a candle and happy birthday wordings on her dessert, which they did. But they also sang a birthday song to her while serving her the dessert. Plus point for Stellar!

Kidsfest 2013

I was looking through the Sistic website for any holiday programs/shows/musicals I can bring Kae to during the upcoming year end holidays. And I chanced upon Kidsfest 2013.

Ever since watching the Cat in the Hat, I've been looking out for plays to bring Kae to. I love the Arts, and want Kae to love it too. And so, I'm bringing Kae to watch the Gruffalo and Room on the Broom! Tickets have been bought! And I am now waiting for the books to arrive too! I bought the books online at fishpond.com.sg.

Can't wait!

Perk me up

A little perk me up for Monday blues!

It all started when I realized Tasche and Beutel is currently taking orders for Chanel Classic flaps till 21st October. I have been eying the Timeless clutch for a while now. It looks pretty simple, but it looks real gorgeous in the hands. Seriously! Instead of getting another Chanel flap bag, why not get a clutch (I currently don't own any) which I can use both for nights and dates with the hubs and friends (when the girls are not with me).

As luck would have it, when I was about to leave the store, I saw this guy looking at the huge range of earrings available in store now.  Presumably for his lucky girlfriend. And so, I looked. And bought. A lovely piece of the C logo in rose pink dangling earrings with a purple stone. Gorgeous!
