Our plan was to have fish and chips for lunch at Fremantle. Along the way, we stopped by the Monument Hill for some photo taking. Monument Hill has been a popular lookout over Fremantle since the early days of British Colonisation. This place was made a park and continued as a lookout and beauty spot popular among the locals and visitors alike. To commemorate the losses of the 1914-1918 war, the City of Fremantle erected the Fallen Sailors & Soldiers Memorial in1928. To date, Monument Hill continues to be used for memorial services, as a lookout and for recreation.
We had our fish and chips at Kailis'. It was not bad. After lunch, we took a walk at the Fremantle markets, and roamed around the vicinity after that. After Fremantle, we headed down towards Perth city (around Hill Street) for a bit of shopping. As their shopping places close at 9pm on friday nights. Usually their shops all close by 5-6pm!
We didn't buy much stuff; there ain't much to buy! Our loot of the day were just some candies and nougats, a duck "music open box" to appease Kae when she was in a cranky mood at Fremantle, and 2 pairs of Havaianas; 1 for Kae and 1 for mummy!
