Taipei Day 2 Part 1

And so we woke to day 2 in Taipei.

Sleeping over in the hotel was one of the worries I had, as Kerri is still sleeping in the baby swing at home in the night before we carry her over to the bed. But as she couldn't sleep much in the day, she was super tired by night time, and quickly dozed off in our arms after her milk feed. Whew!

We started the day by walking around the neighborhood. And guess what was behind our hotel? Looks familiar?

We headed to Eslite bookstore to take a look at the much loved 24 hours bookstore of Taiwan. But we couldn't even find any kids' books there. It reminds me of Kinokuniya though. And so, off we went to Taipei 101.

Can you see Taipei 101 in the background?

We ended up at the shopping mall area of Taipei 101 first. And it's super quiet for a Saturday. All the shops were empty. So the girls ran all over the place.

We then went to queue to get to the Observatory after psyching Kae. She was quite pensive about going up.

The observatory (indoor) is located at the 89th floor, where you could see views in all directions.

We went up to the outdoor observatory at the 91st floor after. It's only opened on certain days when the weather permits. Luckily for us, the weather was quite alright.

And I just had to take a photo with the LOVE sign.

MY main highlight of the day is next. Yup, I've always wanted to visit Mr J! Opened by Jay Chou himself of course. He has 2 restaurants in Taipei, and we decided out of convenience, to visit Mr.J義法廚房, located within Taipei Medical University.

This french italian restaurant is actually opened after the success of the movie Secret, and it housed many of the props from the movie, and other posters of Jay Chou as well.

And yes, the famous piano is also housed at this restaurant. And patrons are advised not to touch the keys of the piano.

The food is not too bad. We had 3 plates of pasta. Yes, Kae had 1 plate all to herself. Of course she couldn't finish it, the portion was huge!

And dar loves his Mentaiko pasta.

Yay!
